Thumbs up FS/FT: Blown98 GT (10 second car)

As much as it hurts to do this, I have to with the new addition to the family coming soon, I'm forced to end the modifications to this car and get something a bit more sensible... that's what my wife says :thinkin:

*** Car was shown in 5.0 Mustang Magazine March 2005 ****

Anyway, here are the stats and hopefully I don't miss anything.

- Dark Green '98 Mustang GT <--- Click for picture
- Approx 90,000 miles on the frame.
- New forged engine (D.S.S. longblock) has approx 500 miles total

Engine Mods: Manley "H" beam forged rods, Custom 21cc forged dished Pistons, Anderson Ford Motorsport F72 billet blower cams, AFM hi-rev springs, Heads ported/polished, oversized ferrea valves, Bullitt intake, Forged cobra crank crank, Ford hi volume oil pump, ARP mains w/2000 bolts, MMR 7 1/2 quart oil pan, BHJ 10% overdrive SFI approved crank pulley, Poly motor mounts, K&N air filter. Have invoice/all paperwork for over $8000 for the longblock and also the cam card! Picture of the engine click right here

Fuel System: -8AN braided supply line, -6AN braided return line, sumped stock tank, 60# Seimans Deka injectors, Pro-M Universal MAF, Aeromotive Universal FPR, Bosch 390/420LPH fuel pump, twin Cobra 52mm Throttle Body.

Picture of the sumped tank

Suspension: QA1 tubular K member, QA1 tubular "A" arms, D&D Coilovers 14" 175lb, Maximum Motorsport Caster/Camber plates, Lakewood 90/10 struts, strange 10 way adjustable shocks, Steeda heavy duty upper and lower control arms, steeda full length subframes w/cross brace, HPM (Zinc) driveshaft loop, FMS aluminum driveshaft, 31 spline moser axles, Downs rear girdle, Houston Performance custom built differential with FMS 3:73 gears.

Transmission: Fully built Art Carr AOD (has overdrive with a switch), Art Carr 4000 non-lockup Converter (antibalooning plates, etc), SFI bellhousing, Art Carr deep trans pan, Hayden trans cooler, Automatic SFI flexplate. (Approx 500 miles total on the trans/converter). This transmission is rated for 800+ horsepower and has manual valve body and transbrake.

Power Adder: Novi 2000 RR supercharger, Paxton front mount air-to-air intercooler, Reichard Racing 3.3" ultra-grip pulley (approx 12 psi of boost).

Cosmetic: Cobra "R" 2 1/2" fiberglass cowl hood, FR500 steering wheel.

Electronics: MSD DIS-4 PLUS w/tach adapters, Innovative LC-1 Wideband with XD-1 gauge

Tires/Rims: Weld prostar drag welds (26x11.5 out back, 3.5's up front) , 3" hardened studs all the way around, McGuard lugnuts.

Exhaust: Mac longtube headers, Mac offroad "H" pipe & Borla XR1 catback.

Gauges: All gauges are autometer "phantom" series which include air/fuel, boost/vacuum, fuel pressure, engine temp, oil temp, trans temp. Gauge cluster is Cobra style and shows approx 2000 miles on it currently.

Stereo: Alpine head unit and Infinity speakers up front.

I have tons of pictures of this car and it's a ONE OWNER CAR --- me! Car has never been in any accidents.

If you want to go 10's if not faster, this is the car for YOU! This car ran 11.2@128 last season (full weight, full interior & drag radials) with a much smaller blower (Vortech S trim) and not nearly as stout of an engine as the one in there now. This car has all the creature comforts (air conditioning, stereo) and I refused to gut this car out to make it a full race car. It's an awesome street car.

Click here for various pictures of the car

This car goes out for cruises every Friday night and is a joy to drive. It's very tame and I have a video of it at idle. If you're interested in the video, please PM/Email me. I have limited bandwidth or I'd post up the link.

Asking price --- $18k OBO. Please no stupid offers. Everything on this car has been professionally done with style.

What will I trade for? I'm open to offers. Let me know what you have.

Thanks for looking and if you have any questions, feel free to send me an email here or PM and I'll do my best to answer.

Thanks,
Tim

With our son coming, I probably won't have as much time to play with my toys as I typically do. Why not have someone else be able to enjoy? I can always build another one I've figured out the secret sauce to these modulars now < SIGH > finnnnaaaaaaly! She's making excellent power thus far....

I've known Tim now personally for what 6-7 years, way back when I had my stang? I even helped him put the engine back into that car.

Great honest guy. Beautiful car.

Hey bud. Yes she would kill me for sure I promise LOL. I'd really like to tone it down a bit and get something stock. Must be convertible and/or T Tops.. no hard tops -- sorry!

Here is a picture of my car so you can see just how well it was taken care of. By the way EdgeHawk, the new engine is making AWESOME power. Enough that the fuel pump/MAF max'd out at 5k. All fixed and hitting the dyno again soon so I can post up some dyno racing #'s LOL.

Thanks EdgeHawk / H8MAC for the compliments. It means a lot coming from LS1 owners. They both know this car is very quick and has been well taken care of. I've spared no expense with the new engine/blower combination. The car needs nothing but a little tuning and then hit the track for some shakedown runs.

If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a note.

Thanks,
Tim

Damn time flies when you're having fun mod'ing cars ... yep it's been probably 6 or 7 years now I guess. Sheesh. LOL. Tell one of these stock LS1's that this is a sweet deal.

Why would you want a "stockish" LS1 car ?? There not the best family kinda car..especially with a new born. One would think you would be looking more for a family kinda car/SuV.

That seems like one hell of a car...sounds like you did everthing right..why dump it now especially for another "sports" car.

I do rember you posting ever now and then in the Eastern section with updates on your set up, but haven't heard from you in a long while .

Good luck with the sale ..just seems silly to me to get rid of it now that it is really stout car .

Mike,
Thanks for the kind words. You're right it's silly to get rid of my car for another car thinking it's going to carry around a newborn when it's not. I have a Nissan Quest minivan for that including the pimp two DVD players ready for our son when he gets here

Simply stated, this car is done and done right. I've had this car since 1998 and it's a one owner car. I need a new project... hopefully that clears things up. Sorry for not explaining my reasoning right.....

Regards,
Tim

I just have to say that I have never had any problems having an infant in an F-body.

You just get yourself a good quality child seat, strap the seat in properly and you are good to go.As a matter of fact I always felt better carrying our son in an F-body because of the superior handling and braking compared to an SUV/'regular car".

Besides,an SUV is probably the worst vehicle to have when you are going to have a kid...With gas prices now,the kid will NEVER make it to college!!!

Anyways, that is one beautiful Mustang and it looks like you REALLY know what your doing with it...Good luck on the sale and I am SURE the new owner is going to have one hell of a smile on their face after getting behind the wheel of that BAD BOY!

BUMP for an awesome Stang!!!

Thumbs up

Since posting, I've installed the LC-1/XD-1 wideband that works flawlessly (bought the LC-1/XD-1 here on LS1Tech from Group Sponsor purchase). Gauge and display fit right in.

I know someone has a nice stock 98+ Vette, Camaro / T/A, etc that they don't want to modify.

C'mon .... I know someone must be interested. Yes I realize this is an LS1 based site but you've heard it from some LS1 Owners here that this car has the best of EVERYTHING!
