Default 2003 Cobra, Whipple, $18,500

$18,500

$100 finders fee for vehicle sale.

No BS comments please. I just want it gone.

Asking $18,500
Overview
45,000 Miles
Whipple 2.3L Supercharger
All the standard upgrades totaling $12k if you were to buy new from the start.
Last dyno’d at 591RWHP / 564 RWTQ – Video
Clean title. VIN Available to serious inquiries.

Synopsis
Whipple took a dump and is being rebuilt now.

Longblock has 45k and should probably be rebuilt when coupled with revised blower. There is currently a considerable vibration that needs to be cured. One suspects it could be the clutch/flywheel, another suspicion is something related to the crank / pullies.

My goal is to sell the car "as-is" much like a Mechanic's special, where you'll get all the goodies and a great platform for modding. If you plan it out wisely, there could be an avenue to make several thousand dollars out of it.

Plan

Drop in new longblock, pop on new supercharger and it's a like new drivetrain.

Tousley Ford is offering $3,700 shipped to your door for a manufactured Terminator longblock after $2,000 core charge.

To get in touch, email me with the above link and I'll forward any information requested as well as my phone number.

Thanks for looking.

** Looking to sell outright. No trade offers, please. **

That blower needs some help... I might be interested can you post a video of the engine noise without the blower going? Any ideas you or your local shop has on this issue? I mean 18,500 for a car with a possible spun bearing or total engine rebuild is a bit high... More info would be appreciated..

I'll get a video uploaded soon. I had trouble with Youtube earlier.

Consider this, you can get a brand new longblock for $3,700 shipped (with refundable $2,000 core) if it needed one.

$22k for a basically brand new car, and add in a grand for Whipple repair (worst case) and a few other miscellaneous costs I imagine you'd be $24k in max. Good luck finding a car loaded with this many goodies for that price.

Nothing for a while. I work from home now so I don't do much driving but I have a few replacements in mind down the road.

First priority here is to get this car to someone who can give it the love and care it needs, I've lost interest.

Sounds like you already found the problem and dont want to dump the money in it to fix it.

Just suspicions, but overall I'm done with the car and the timing of these events couldn't be worse trying to get rid of it.

Down the road if no one picks it up, I may end up dropping a new longblock in after further [professional] review and list the car for sale again at a higher price running a basically new drivetrain.

The cost of time is really what I'm trying to avoid.

actually for 18,500 and if it needs only a motor it will be a decent deal not the deal of the century.. figuring a shop will charge more than 5,000 for a rebuild and then if the whipple is bad theres 3,000 more.
