Thought some of the guys from the valley might like to see a piece of local history.

We actually had a drag strip in San Fernando, I never knew that.

They kinda built the Whiteman airport expansion over it.

amazing how 41 years later... were still doing the same thing! build it, race it, blow it up...... rinse and repeat.

I love how they burn the tires off the whole track.

Tire technology in 2008>tire technology in 1960

That was cool to watch though.
What times did the cars run in the 60's.

13.0 sec was a FAST street car, and mid-low 11's was a near race car.
