Default rear end cover question

I just put on a mac rear end cover, and there is no way i can hook up those two wire/hanger looking things on each side. do i needs those?

i think that they are just for locating the brake lines i swapped rear axles and removed those parts with no ill effects

you don't need them since I don't have them on my 12-bolt my Iroc which is out of an LS-1. But how is it that you can't hook them up? I just did my strange 12-bolt swap on my 4th gen and they fit.

the bolts that came with the mac cover are too short. and the cover itself is alot thicker than the stock one.

were they 1.5" alanhead? i have a mac girdle sittin right here at the shop thats whats in the sealed lil bag

yea those were it. they are way too small imo. i wasnt able to use the locking washer, just the regular washer because they would just not catch the threads

in use with that thick *** gasket they include...damn this isnt gonna be fun

it is not that much so you dont squeeze out the gasket.

I have a TA girdle and it came with longer screws/washers to accommodate the hangers.

hahaha ya that would suck, if it makes you feel better i would just throw some blue locktite on them and then be worry free.

its a really nice cover though. i was surprised when i saw how thick it was. and i really like the drain plug on the bottom too!
