Well I thought at first it was going to be a suspension issue but reading on the noise my car was making turns out my gears are shot in the rear. Rightfully noticeable now so... my plans are to piece together an auburn hd carrier 3:42 gears after talking with a guy who builds rear ends here local to me he suggested them for a DD. also Moser axles. Damn **** ton of money will be spent priced out with rebuild kit at ~$900. Sweet deal. Shant man I will let you know when I buy the stuff and possibly try and baby the car over to your shop or get triple A to tow it there if you don't mind at some point in the future.

well started out on turns it would jerk and make clunking noise then it kept getting worse then driving back from lunch yesterday three lound bangs came from the back when accelerating in a straight line and well now it sounds like a fork in a grinder on low setting and clunks and bucks like a mad horse in a rodeo.
As picked up from the the axles and gears section in the last sticky in that section about when will my 10 bolt go bad.
3a. The torsens seem to wear out quicker whether you race or not. Tell-tale signs of a fading torsen are ratcheting/clunking noises when turning/low speeds/etc. If your torsen does break, you can replace it with another, or pick up an aftermarket carrier.

i know the scrap yard by my place has a bunch of fbodies there with the rears intact. just another option instead of spending a lot of money on your 10 bolt.

Anyone deal with calspeed and performance in the bakersfield area?

yeah I found one in bakersfield with 69k on it i should check craigslist too but I would prefer someone on here cause then I can get a feel for the person ya know. I am leaning towards buying a used rear should only take me a couple hours by myself in the ol parents driveway, damn apartment complex doesn't allow any working on vehicles.

i feel ya on the apartment issue, but i'd rather not get ***** deep into a repair in an apartment parking lot and find out something else is wrong or i don't have the right tool. had that happen before and that **** sucked

Yeah I agree with the others, its a better idea to just find a 3.42 geared rear from an M6 f-body. Will definately wake your car up compared to the 2.73s. No need to spend $900 on a damn 10 bolt.

right? i'm still waiting to find one of those. maybe you could some used gears in a salvage yard to tide you over until you save up for one LS1Adam84.

Either way Adam, good luck on another used 10 bolt lasting you another 3-4 years. Maybe you'll get lucky.
