Well, the car is registered in another family member's name, as well as the insurance. So, the grey area for me is whether or not I have to register it here if it's a car belonging to someone else in another state. From what I'm told by DMV, it's up to the cop how he wants to approach it.

I would think that as long as you're covered by the insurance and reg is complete you'd be okay with the cop. Unless he has pulled you over multiple times and catches on to what you're doing.

Yea, I'm covered on the insurance, but I'll double check to see if that might change if it's out of state.

I'll save the insurance company rant for another thread, but that would be a wise thing to do to cover all your bases (and ***).

I believe my insurance covers me driving other people's cars as well, so I'm fairly certain I'm covered either way. But, I'll check into both.

Your thinking too much on it. Just get the car here and drive it.

That's the plan. Gonna wait until spring, though, because I'm shipping it in an open trailer. I'd rather not have it exposed to the winter elements through the mountains in winter.

Because I know everyone has been waiting on pins and needles for 17 months as to whether or not this happened, it has. Just got it re-tuned for 91 octane (had to drive it a bunch to get the remaining 93 out of the tank) by Rick at Synergy and picked up ~25hp/30tq. Never thought I'd be leaving there with more hp/tq than my 93 tune (and neither did Rick). I'd say that's some pretty good tuning.

It ended up making 487hp/474tq through my stock lid, MAF, TB, and LS6 intake. Most importantly, the car drives much better and is much more responsive.

my best friend has his **** registered in oregon, and when he gets fucked with, which is rarely, he says he is just a long term contractor here in the state, so he has a cali license, but he is a resident of oregon. This has worked for over 12 years for him.
