Will if you're going to do ANYTHING to your system I suggest you do something like this. You do put some of the best **** in your car so dont stop now. This is a complete system. Blows everything else outa the water in this thread. Only thing i'd add if it already isnt is some sound deadening.
Doors, floors and sail panels all have Dynomat. I also have an Alpine 1/2 din EQ to help tailor the sound. Watched a dvd the other day for the first time (Pirates of the Carribean at worlds end) when the bass kicked in we all pooped in the parking lot LOL.

Mine is a single Alpine type R 10" in a custom side box so the t-top holders are usable, a Fosgate P325 and a P450 powering the sub and the type S components in the sails, doors and tweeters in the doors, and a 7" indash dvd player to control all of it.

I like everything about. Its not to overpowering unless I want it to be. The place that installed it did a nice clean job...I thought about installing another sub on the other side but now I have something else in there

It's wire at 3 ohms.

6.5" RE RE midbass drivers
Alpine SPX tweeters

No rear speakers. No need for them

1-10" Sub- Image Dynamics IDQ

McIntosh 75 x 4 Channel for the fronts setup (1 channel each)
Alpine 600D for the IDQ

Alpine External Crossover for the whole system to tune it and a good amount of SecondSkin Sound Deadner

I have 2 alpine type Rs, with 2 pdx 1.1000 rms amps powering them at 2 ohms, 2 caps, yellow top, ida x100 head unit, alpine speakers and a alpine f600 4 channel amp. Using 0 guage wire from the battery. Sounds real good, the subs do a real good job, they hit the lows really good and can get loud as well, they are in a sealed box but I think Im gonna change to ported. Check out these guys, their located in santa clarita, best prices... period.

I had two 12'' emphis with a 400 watt memphis amp.. It hit pretty hard and sounded good since the back glass acts like a ported box and amplifies the bass These pics are old as i have upgraded since then..

It has to be built to be quickly discarded or made of carbon fiber since as soon as Will loses a close race, that **** is gone.

haha, you're right Cesar. The 2 badass 12's is somewhat excessive for me though (even though theyre probably fun as hell)

I went with an AE AV12H In a 1.5 cu ft sealed box with an Mmats D1600.2 powering it with 1200watts rms @ 2ohm. I currently have 4 Alpine Type S 6.5's up front(sails using the feeds from the hatch speakers) ran on the stock amp which sounds surprisingly good for what they are and an Alpine headunit I'm going to add an amp for highs, new speakers and a headunit soon.

I finally finished the majority of the sound deadening also, damn that ****'s a pain!!

Nice thread guys
MMATS D1600.2, sounds familiar?

Talking

Kenwood KDC-X991, 2 zapco symbilink transmitters for front and rear speakers go into 2 zapco AG350 (ea. 2ch. 100rms@4ohms)amps powering a front set of Diamond Audio hex s600s component speakers, and in the sail panels a set of CDT HD-M6+ subs.
For the subs I first have a Audio Control Epicenter running into a MMATS D3500.05 (2700 watts rms) @ 1/2 ohm,then powering 2 Image Dynamics IDMAX10 d2's, each in 1.6cu.ft. w/external aero port @29hz.
For sound deadening : under the dash, above the headliner, on/in sail panel area, on/in the doors, floor area, rear fender area, hatchlid, and body bag area!
All done with 1-2 layers of secondskin damplifier, and overkill pro.
and finally under the car sprayon truckbed liner under front and rear seat area and rear trunk area.
That should be about all of it!
And 1 run of 4 gauge, and 1/0 gauge power wire running to the amps.

So loud it hurts!

Good deal, nice to see someone on the forum that knows a thing or 2 on sstems. Are you using 4 guage wire for the "Big 3" setup? What kind of alternator and how much? Been thinking about getting one.

I need to remove mine. They are little 4" kenwoods. When I turn up the volume they rattle those flimsy plastic panels all over the place and makes it sound like ****.

Mine did the same thing, so did the ones in my parents SS. I even asked my stereo guy if it would be worth replacing them and he said just unplug em.

For the "Big 3" I'm using 1/0 gauge, alternator is a Powermaster 200amp pt#58203(I've had mine for probably 2yrs.).
My PowerMaster "Proof of performance" card shows a tested output of 250amps @ around 1900(engine)rpm.

Dam, 1/0 guage. Thanks. Im gonna step up the "big 3" then, Im running 4 guage wire. The power to the subs drops a bit when the engine is on, so Im guessing its got to be the alternator. Ill step up to 1/0 guage for the "big 3", and if it doesnt help then its got to be the alternator.
