SFC's HAVE to be welded in with the whole suspension under load - that requires a ramp lift or a shop that has a basement level where the car drives over it on metal supports. A four point lift not only blocks the SFCs from being installed but if you somehow still figured it out you would probably total the car by twisting the chassis when you put it back on the ground.

Not much. It's mostly peace of mind.

He's also always REALLY busy. He charges between $80 and $100 to install, depending on his mood. Good guy that knows his stuff, but I don't want to wait in line for an undetermined period and then pay $100 to install my SFCs if I don't have to.

I didnt on my convertible, but I don't think you have to on any UMI or BMR SFCs. I think that's only when intalling a cage/roll bar.

some people say to weld them on with no load on the suspension, that way, when the suspension loads up again, it in effect "preloads" the SFCs and you will have less flex.

Ive done it both ways and not noticed **** worth of difference

That's ridiculous, take it somewhere else. I got my SLP 3-poing SFC's welded in for 40 bucks. Didn't have to remove anything.

You won't have to remove any interior with any of our SFC's. Just make sure the battery is disconnected.

It's an exhaust shop in Garden Grove. Alex (LT ChevyBoy) knows where it is exactly. He took me there. He also had to do a lot of extra welding to get them to work on my car, cause one side of the underbody was caved in a little before I got the car. And he still only charged me 40 bucks.

Same shop that SRJ used. Welds look decent. Not $100 an hour quality, but they work. I'm covering the whole area in Rustoleum metallic black and it looks fine once painted.

I also had them tuck my exhaust tips higher and further in while straightening them out (which was a royal PITA... 2 welds, one Sharpie mark, and 3 times raising and lowering the lift later) grand total with SFC install was $60.

Let's see you do better for $40... I sure ain't paying Dyno Don $100 and waiting 6 months on his guest list.

If you want to, you can pay me $400 and I can have my master fabricator buddy reweld in the subframe connectors across the entire length with perfect nickel-shaped welds. If you want concourse quality you have to pay for concourse quality.

I doubt enough force is exerted on those welds to break them anyways (especially with them bolted in). If there is ever that much force, it'd only be in a major accident situation in which case one of the last things I'm worrying about is my subframe connector welds remaining intact...

Welds don't look like they penetrated. Look just goobered on there.

If you wanted a haircut but didn't want to pay $20 so I charged you $10 and made you look like Opie from Family Guy would you be happy ?

Don't trip my friend. Your welds are fine. I've had mine hold up perfectly for the past 2 years they've been welded into place, and you know as well as I that I've put them through the motions. Ex: I was 4th back out of 80+ cars and started from about 30 back, during the Invasion cruz this year and hung with the Vette in front of me just fine. And I check my under body routinely at least twice a month. Everything is still intact.

For quick and willing service, on a short notice appointment basis that shop is a place I'll continue to go to. He's been in business for countless years. Shops with bad reps don't stay up. And for the cost and speed of his work I'm happy with him or I would have never taken you there.

To each his own for opinions, but I'll trust my car and what it withstands in the twisties and canyons more than I will 2nd hand criticism. Remember that bro, before you openly put yourself or your car onto the Tech Thread "chopping block."
