welding axle tubes

does any one have a pic of this mod i was told it helps reinforce the stock 10 bolt input needed please i am bored and have a welder and get all my rods for free at welding class i wont waste no money in this project

If you look at where your axle tubes go in to the center differential section, they are only welded on the very top and bottom on each side. The mod simply welds it all the way around the tube, like on a Moser 12 bolt.

Not sure. I wouldn't pay someone $100 to do it, but if I had the ability to do it myself, I would. Moser must do it for a reason. It is definitely cheaper to just do a small weld up top & bottom like GM does.

ive heard of that being done but still waiting to hear the verdict if its worth doing or not

I thought the biggest problem was shearing teeth, not sure how this prevents that.

Just toss it on a jig and weld that bitch up, make sure it's empty and degreased though, i have heard that the oil can seep through and make a weak weld. I do think a back brace would be of more benefit though. Something like this:

the sides are welded and the center is a bolt-on piece, but then at that point it's just a waste of money, and should be tossed out in favor of a 12bolt.
