Default Jury Service L.A County.

Has anyone not gone to Jury Service? I had a summons for service last month and did not go because I am living in Texas now, and have been for 8months. When I was in the SFV visiting my dad gave me the paper that had gotten to the house out in cali saying I needed to show up on 4/20/09 and I brought the paper back home with me and forgot all about it till I came across the paper yesterday, and wanted to know what can happen since i did not call them and let them know I was not living in the state of CA anymore, and I tried calling the number on the summons but its a stupid automated machine who cant get me anymore to speak to someone and let them know I have not been living in Cali since 8months ago..Anyone ever miss jury duty/service? if so what happen?

^^^^ naw, just kidding...but you should definitely change your residence to Texas, and prolly contact the clerk of court....but if they haven't mentioned anything, I'm sure you're fine.

and you have no state income tax which i am sure is nice, but i would try calling again because things can go down hill really quickly and it would suck to have to pay a big fine or have something stupid happen which seems to happen quite a bit.

Yeah I tried calling the number thats on the summons but all it gets me through is an automated service which is a PITA to try to get to someone that I can speak with and let them know whats going on..anyone have a number besides the 1-800 number on the summons?

I have missed jury duty for four consecutive years. This week i got a court date to be in court to give reason why i never go, if i dont show up for that they will find me and put me in jail and or fine me aswell. Its just that for some reason they have been spelling my name wrogn so I dont show up. I have to call no big deal and give reason.
