installing electric cut out switch
Hey what up fellas...i am trying to hook up my electric cut out switch. The place where it will go is the right under the stereo where (if you have a vert) the switch to top is at. since the required volts is 12 i was told that i can hook it up with the power wire of the stereo. Can anyone tell me the color of the wire which powers the stereo also what color is the ground...
FYI...sorry but i know this is a noob question...this is my first time doing it..
Thanks fellas in advance...

I didnt touch the stereo wiring for my cut out....
what you can do is, under your console in the wiring for TCS/ASR (traction control) use the pink wire. This will do the same thing for you and it's close to wiring too.

i personally wouldnt want to piggy back off another circuits wiring...
your best bet is to make a new fused circuit with a relay...
this way you can run your own power source and ground path to your device...you can use almost any key power source as a trigger as well...

cigartte lighter 12+ is an orange wire... if you wire it that way, dont use the cigarette lighter and the cutout at the same time... im pretty sure its a 25 amp fuse, but the ligter requires quite a bit of amperage to operate, and the startup current of the electric motor may cause the fuse to blow...

Use the Traction control Harness under the console like stated above. Its just a harness under the console. Thats what I used for my Line Lock and just fabbed up a plate, on/off switch and active hold Button!

Also, i my Z28 didn't come out wit traction control...
One other thing. where i have my fog switch and another plaque that says camaro there is another switch that i have but is non-operational. When i took out the console to set up my switch, there are wires running to that non-working switch. has anyone figured out what thats for?
