Just Totaled My Firebird! I was just driving straight after my basketball game when I see this 96 Honda Accord coming the opposite way. He gets into the middle turning lane that divides the traffic and before I know it this crazy ************ dosnt stop and turns in front of me! He actually tried to floor it and beat me. I swerved and hit him right in the pass side rear door/fender area. His *** went flying across two lanes and into a pole. My car still drove home! His got towed. Good thing there was a cop literally right behind me and he saw it all. I got the report and everything, guess what? This bastard had a Mexican drivers license and dint have the insurance card. I hope the owner of the vehicle is insured, he was some 21 year old punk. Regardless, the bird is done. I didnt want her to go out that way. Just my luck, first my wife totals her suv and the next day its my turn. This is fucked up.

Had the same thing happen to me in my 1970 El Camino. The bastard tried to run from the scene so I grabbed him and I got an assault charge,got dropped but still lol. Why cant we get hit by people with good insurance or a lot of money?

thnx guys. I was so pissed, it felt like someone was messing with me. 2 cars!? Looks like I'll be forced to buy a new dd. If I decide to fix the firebird it will take a while so I dont know whats gonna happen just yet. I dont even wanna think about it right now.

damn, man sorry for your loss. but its insane how i was reading a thread you made in honor of your bird earlier this week then the first thing i read is that it got totaled. That blows man, this is your first car....

Yeah it super freakin blows. I still wanna keep her and maybe fix her later but I dont know if the wife will agree to that. We'll see. I think I'll have to start thinking about getting a used car. Maybe another clean third gen, LT1 or even a C4. The Firebird was my daily driver and my C5 runs on race fuel so I think Im gonna be forced to get a new dd. This week sucks ***. Whats next, someones gonna run over my bike?

Damn,sorry to hear about your ride dude.first thing everbody told me when I got my camaro was your gonna wrap it around a pole.never did but had a fender bender with a new lexus and the chick bought me the front bra for my car,lol...and again sorry to hear about your dd,time for an LS1 swap

Sorry to hear about it. I lost my Red 01 WS6 four years ago. When I got my current one I was a little paranoid for a while. The idiot non insured drivers are attracted to these f-bodies like magnets. Good Luck on finding a replacement. Gotta get back in the saddle ya know...

Well, I dont know the fate of the firebird yet. The other cars insurance still has to come look at it (if its insured). For now I might buy my friends super clean '73 Chevy Custom Deluxe Pickup. He's selling it to me very cheap since he doesnt drive it. He's been wanting to sell it to me for like 3 years since he knows im a Chevy guy, guess his wish might come true. At least its a very nice truck. Still, no replacement for my Firebird. Right now Im even paranoid to drive moms xterra!
