Question Any car insurance wiz's in here?

Well here is my situation: My car is registered in CA, but I have a NV license. All of the sudden, after two years of doing this, my company (Mercury) says they won't insure me anymore because of this. I don't want to change my car's registration because I'm in a loophole where I never have to get the car smogged.

Does anyone know if it's even possible to have insurance with my situation? Or did Mercury just screw up for two years?

change to another insurance co. might even save some $$, most other insurance co. except for the majors (allstate, state farm....) don't care where your license is from.

I've been seeing where people can get insurance and they DON'T have to have a license. Don't know how that works.

Im not sure but I think you have to at least be a resident of the state your car is insured in. Why not just get insurance and register the car in NV? Doesnt matter where you drive as long as youre covered. If you have questions I know a cool guy that works at State Farm. He wont mind answering your questions even if youre buying insurance with him. If you want pm me for his number, just in case.

I don't think you're going to get away with it much longer. They check your residence so you can't exploit that loophole.

5 bucks a month for 2 years (24 mo) = 120 < 200.
