Their are a few thirdgens around here that are smog legal that run in the 12's. For example Kevin and Don. Then theirs Allen who ran I think a 12.1 being a smog legal car. Their engines are actually 350's and 355's not 383's. If you do your research and port the hell out of that TPI it is very possible to have a fast thirdgen.

But who knows. This guy could have his 383 with a stealth ram or a miniram, and with a right combination of parts with that intake can have a really fast car. I'm curious to see what happens.

yeah i guess theyre pretty quick . i wasnt reffering to them. im talkin about the non smog legal cars we normally see in the streets. i always pull up to those type of guys that claim 400hp without even pullin up the car to a dyno.

i doubt that guy has a smog legal 383.

you shouldn't have a problem unless its blown.

I've owned a few 10 and 11 sec 3rd Gens. TPIS/Lingenfelter/Edelbrock and a few others make great products for TPI motors. If he beats you, deal with the crticsism and MOD MOD MOD.

alright guys.
so he bitched out on the money race after he heard me pull up.lol! he wasnt B.S me. i dont know much about 3rd gens, but he had a clean one.
it looked like a V6 body with a v8. he had full exhaust with cats,i couldnt see the heads,do to the damn elderbrock valve covers, his Tb looked kinda crazy though.looked after market. i did here a small cam in it too. he also had a ram air kit for his cowl along with his nitrous.

well after i called him out on his **** talking he backed out of betting.we ended up running for fun.
1st run-motor vs motor=01SOMSS!

2nd run-motor vs.spray=01SOMSS!-i dont know if i should claim a win since a car cut him off,but i did have about a 3/4 of a car on him.

3rd run-motor vs. spray=3rd gen by about 3/4 of a car at top end(i was shifting at 6K my rev is set to 6500...stupid me)

4th run-motor vs spray=3rd gen by same amount

5th run-motor vs.spray=01SOMSS! by 3/4 of a car

6th run -motor vs. spray=01SOMSS! by a car

after we got back, the guys did give me props. he said my **** was quick as ****.i could have been an *** and made fun of his ***,but what ever...i guess someone has to be the bigger man right

vid.

You had a passenger and he didn't.. He wouldn't have beat you those two times if it wasn't for that.

Nice runs. That's a sweet 3rd Gen for sure. But, you gotta love the LSx platform.

Oh, and I'm not sure I'm buying that it's a 383, though.

Work on your shifting man, you'll make up distance right there.

And either he doesn't have what he says he has or his set up doesn't work well together. He needs a 120 shot to win...by a little...

Good kills Louis. I am not buyng that he had a 383. If he did it was not the torque monster it was meant to be.

Good kill Luis! I agree that there is something wrong with his setup. A 383 with edelbrock heads a decent cam and n20 should have moved out more. What was he running for a trans? A4?

I have to agree with everyone else that it's not a 383, I have been in jason's cam only lt1 and it pulls like an ls1. A 383, cam, heads lt1 would pull harder than that 3rd gen in the video.
