Default Let's play the game "Is this an LE?"

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...626920371.html

Noticed there was no cme and no slp lid, not sure if it's legit or just a knock off, some of you LE people or more knowledgeable people chime in, I thought the LE's all came with the cme and slp options.

Yeah and look at the front passenger side bumper, it is pretty scratched liked someone tried to make the car have sex with a bush or something.

looks pretty legit to me, (not every LE came with the CME, however the SLP lid did have to be on it, not sure what happened there) theres really no difference just the stiching on the seats, but since there is no straight shot of the seat, u can't really tell,(camaro king making his replicas with the huge *** SS's. looks pretty legit thought. only way to know is to take the vin # to a Chevy Dealer and ask, or look on the door code.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Good to know that they did not all come with CME's I thought that was a standard part of the LE package, good info though to know otherwise.

Nice car but def needs some work. New rim and tire, repaint front bumper, remove the ricer sticker, pass seatbelt mount.

Whats best about it is that it has a "Corvette Engine"! You know those 5.7L V8 Ls1's only came in the Vettes.

True, and the gap between "35" and "th" is a bit larger on his seats...

GM seats : "35th Anniversary"
Camaro King seats : "35 th Anniversary"

I think it's a fake- this isn't a full option car. The trac ctrl button is missing... It is a low mileage car though either way, although you can't tell by looking at it. Don't pay over 11 for it until you can confirm it's authenticity.

Looks like a LE to me. By the by, the SLP lid was a 2nd sticker option, so it does not come with a SLP lid otherwise. See if you can get a photo of the RPO codes on the drivers side door. If the car has RPO code Z4C, then it's for real.

FYI, If you look at 4th photo at where the paint(bottom, center) is scraped off that tells me the car was either driven hard at stock height, or the car was lowered before. The bottom center on the nose of my car looks like that, but not nearly that bad, and my car's lowered about 2" up front. So you would also want to look for exhaust damage between the exhaust manifolds and the Y-pipe exit.
I don't know if it's a real LE, but I thought I'd point that out about the scraped lower nose.

just to put my .02 out there if it were to be real don't you think the owner would have taken care of it a lot better than it is. i don't know anyone who would've let this car go to crap and put that stupid sticker on the rear bumper and also the car is missing the SS badging on the panel in the back.

That's looks a real LE, just in pretty rough shape. Seat embroidery is well faded, by the looks of the front bumper and wheels I figure it was at one point a DD . Stock lid and exhaust.

LE's like other collectible Camaros have different options that the original owner opted for and depending on those as well as miles & condition will make it more valuable than the next.

An LE was a factory option code Z4C. You could add SLP options on top the Z4C since it was headed there anyway. The 345hp slp CME was one of those options or the slp dual/dual exhaust. These options could be had on any other SS as well not just the LE's.

Some LE's made there way to GMMG for futher enhancements. These are called PE or Performance Edtion and depending on the level selected up to the C5R 600hp option.

There's an article in this months Camaro Milestones Magazine that selected the LE as the #7 future collectible Camaro. The top of the LE pile are the 45 Brickyard cars in which I have #10.

That concludes out LE lesson for the day.lol.

This car has been for sale for months. I saw it in person when I was looking at a TA. It's has potential but it's kinda rough. Had some sort of street racing sticker on it. Maybe 10k on a good day!

Ive seen this ad since forever.
It is a LE. A friend of mine not to long ago purchased one himself with 54,000 miles on it for 18k. His didnt come with the CME or the SLP lid. So far hes done slp loudmouth, and Lid. I dont know what else he has in mind but yea.
That car is not worth 14k IMO. Scratches on paint, some weird looking sticker, yup that devalues the car to 10k.

It doesn't have a trac button cause it doesn't have ASR, which was not standard.

10k is still high I say with the amount of damage to it maybe 8.5k or 9k. Yeah this one is interesting though has that corvette 5.7L V8, dang I can't believe I didn't get that option with my Z28, crap I am missing out big time.
