Default Anyone have one? Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT for LS1 & LS2's

Im sure some of you guys have seen the Edelbrock Pro-Flo XT manifold for LS1 and LS2s. Ive really been wanting this manifold for my C5. I gotta take measurements but Im sure It wont fit under a stock hood. Im even considering trading my FAST 90 intake for a C5 cowl hood or buying a hood so it fits. I wanted to know if anyone around here has installed the intake on their LS motor, Camaro or Corvette. Im mostly curious on the performance gains they have seen. I know one guy with saw a 39hp increase over a LS6 intake. I know I already have a FAST been it seems that the Edelbrock flows more and has a better torque curve and torque increases from 1500-7000 rpm, plus it looks pretty freakin cool. Just wondering if any in this section has had some type of experience with this intake. I tried a search but they talked more about fitment issues than performance.

I just finished dropping a stock LS1 into my buddy's '91 RS. He plans on getting it ref'd, after that we are going to be installing LT's, Torquer v.2 cam, and the Edelbrock ProFlow intake. He already has a cowl hood, so fitment won't be an issue. He's getting the intake through a connection at Edelbrock. I'll post up results when it all finally happens.

I was considering that intake as well for my car, but I got a Victor JR instead.

I would think you would have to run a huge cowl on your vette for that manifold

It would make your car pretty much insane with it just sticking out on a portion of your hood nate.

Lol, yeah it should look cool but the motors in the c5's are pretty low on the chasis so I have to measure it first. Maybe a 4in cowl or something should do it. I better start saving up.

How does it feel up top? I have bascally a ms3 cam with TFS heads and I know those cams love living in those high rpms.

Dam dude. 4 in. cowl??? IMO, that cowl would be way too big. Check out other options.

Also, I'm sure you'll need to replace other things such as the fuel rails, and maybe even a different intake or at least different intake tubing. The gain vs. cost compared to what you already have I think is not going to be all that significant. Especially in the power gain department. I doubt you'll be gaining even 25 hp over your PORTED FAST intake under the same power curve. If someone else knows otherwise, please correct me. Always up for learning.

In the end dude, the ProFlo XT is going to end up costing you a lot and not for a lot of power gain. If you do this, I think you'll be doing it more for the look than anything else. Especially if you're considering a 4 in. cowl. Seems you want your car's look to be over the top. Don't forget you'll also be compromising frontal visibility with that big *** hood, and I'm not so sure that's a good thing when you go canyon carving.

Actually 4in might be a bit high but i shouldnt need to be a huge cowl. As for performance gains, we'll see. It should be better up top around 7000rpm due to the runners. Its cheaper than the fast anyway by over $300 and the fuel rails are something Ive been wanting to upgrade anyway and are only $120. The cowl hood is a plus, I wouldnt mind one for the hell of it.
Something like this should work,
VIS Hood under $600

That cowl still looks big dude. Don't really think you'll constantly be living in the 7000 rpms, but alright. In the end you'll still be spending more than the FAST. You do know that right? I still think it's more of the look you want, along with doing something that is not widely done by other enthusiasts especially in a Vette. That's what is tickling your fancy.

If you go with that hoos, I would add the little lip in the back to offset the look of the higher cowl. Those two things compliment eachother imo.

I say go for it, I think the car will look great, besides, you can easily change it back if you don't like the look/results...

I was considering the Pro-Flo as well but there isn't too much info out there compared to Fast set ups. Plus with the promising Fast102/102 results coming in, I think I might just go that way.

it feels great up top my car holds peak hp all the way to redline (7200) and i think im going to even bump my redline up to like 7500 or 7600

as far of cost i don't think it will be nearly as much as fast, the edelbrock intake with rails is under 500$ and then you get to spend the rest of the money on a cool new hood lol
i don't think u will need a 4in hood btw, a 3 in would probably be enough but i would take some measurements to be sure

Not under 500, but not too expensive:

Total is $549.94 before shipping. Whis is still a hell of a lot cheaper than what the cathedral port FAST 102 will cost.
