99 Camaro cluster works in my 3rdgen
Just got done wiring up the 99 camaro cluster to my 89 LS1 camaro. Everything works perfect. this weekend im going to cut to fit my dash for the cluster. it looks like its going to slide right in, i hope lol. Im just super happy that everything works. I havent tested out the speedo yet.
The reason for this is because i didnt want to go spend close to $500 to make my stock gauges work. I figure i would spice it up with this. Here are some pics of the install. Should have more later this weekend.
Here is also a link to a short clip of it working

Not to steal your thunder...I beat you to that already.
I swapped a '99 LS1/4L60E into my buddy's '91 RS. I decided to use the 4th gen gauges. To get them to fit I had to trim the gauge cluster cavity a little, mainly the little ridge on the top middle of the cavity, you'll see what I mean. You also have to cut a little hole for the gauge pigtail to come through the back of the dash, otherwise when you have it connected it will make the gauges stick out too far. Also I had to lower down the steering column, slip the gauges in place, and then bolt the steering column back into place to get them to fit. It's a tight fit but works great.
Pics below.
Using a butane heated knife to trim the gauge cluster cavity.
Gauges in and wired up.

ABS INOP
AIR BAG,
Service Vehicle
Brake light
I needed each module in order for it to work which i dont want to do
Hey SS, I know you were the first. Thats where i got the idea from. Your dash is way different than mine. I have plenty of room in the dash. I just have to cut the top a little

i believe i was the first within the states to have a fully functional 4th gen cluster, on a 3rd gen lol
im still working on that. ill be swapping into a 4th gen master cylinder soon.

Bring that bad boy to LA Invasion, last year we had a good group of 3rd gens including a few LSX powered. Be warned there are some hardcore TPI guys that think LS1's in 3rd gens are the devil, but maybe we can change their mind after a few 1/4 mile passes!!

I want to so bad. Im trying to talk my dad into this. He is like my crew chief lol. Are you guys going to be doing the cruise on sat? I most likely just go on sunday. Depending on what you guys want to do. Let me know. I dont know if i can change those TPI guys mind. There car might be more powerful than mines. Im only running 12.7@ 109mph. Maybe this cluster might add some HP
