Default Slightly not as Impressed by a GM parts site

Went on GM Parts Direct looking for a throttle cable, as mine has been broken for sometime now. I am tired of seeing it ghetto rigged on so I wanted to order a new one. Did a search and found it. They sell it for $28, to me that is not a bad price for a brand new factory replacement part.

Just thought I would share, I have always liked GM Parts Direct but really kind of happy about tonight. I will see how it goes when i get to the whole shipping process.

Thanks. Didn't know about this. My ignition is going out so might need one, and a power antenna

Yeah GM direct stuff is bat **** crazy expensive, I prefer going this route than used parts, at least this way I got a new replacement part.

Ive always heard they get you with shipping. I prefer Scoggin Dickey for GM parts. Great service to back up the parts.

It depends on what you are ordering.

They still beat any dealer in SoCal when it comes to pricing.

I've seen some dealers (O'Donnel Chevrolet and now gone, Power Chevrolet) actually sell parts higher that MSRP/list.

The thing with GMPD, is that they first part you are also paying for a "handling fee".
If you order several parts, usually it is only one part that has ridiculous shipping rates.
The whole order usually averages out when you order more than one item.

I've actually ordered stuff from them and saw that the part came from a SoCal dealer, shipped back east to them only to ship it back to me.

No wonder GM went bankrupt.

Ive been using them for years. I ordered my C5 Z06 calipers from them, both times. I might be doing it again and see if I can get them on the Equinox.

LOL really Dave? the Equinox? I don't think you can go fast enough to need that much stopping power. Your brakes will keep your car from moving.
