Default Tires?

I will be moving back to Fl where it rains quite a bit and I am trying to figure out what tire to use on my Firehawk. The car makes 700ish RWHP so I need something sticky but with wet weather capabilities. I did a search and could not get any good info. Not worried about cost or tread life.

I would not drive that beast in the rain

Goodyear GSD3 or Michelin PS2 are you best wet weather performance tire.

Not too sticky though...

I try not to, but I remember when I lived in Pensacola it would be 90 and sunny so I would take the tops off and go out then all of a sudden, there was sideways rain lol. Just looking for a tire that can handle power and not put me in a ditch like my Nittos did to me in TX.

i think nittos would have been your best bet.

Asking for a tire to handle 700 wheel and get wet traction is like trying to find a **** star with a tight *****

Well, assuming money is no object, these may do...

Although, here are some all-out rain competition tires:

If you're not worried about tread life at all, then these may be the ones... With a treadwear of 40 though I don't think it would be practical if you take the car out for a drive every weekend...

I believe these come on Porsches:

I have NT05's right now and I can guarantee that they aren't decent in the rain if you have 700RWHP and a Procharger and you don't want to drive like a granny in the rain... He might want something more wet-friendly than NT05's, since I have had no problem breaking mine loose at 1/3 throttle on freeway onramps on damp mornings.

If you drive like a grandma, then sure, they can work... I LOVE mine for driving here in SoCal weather and most of the time they are great in rain driving.

Then again, my car was at stock LS1 HP levels (315rwhp/333rwtq), and has a 4L60E.

You couldn't pay me to drive M/T ET Streets in the rain. They're scary enough as-is in the dry when going around corners... You have to be shitting me if you think M/T ET Streets are an option for this guy. Nitto 555R/555 are 100 times better than M/T ET Streets in the rain and the 555's put his last car in a ditch.

If you choose Pilot SPort, make sure you go with PS2s and not the original PS.
The PS2 was designed for better wet conditions.

Any reason you don't like the Goodyear GSD3?

GSD3's are close to an NT05 and an RT-615 in initial dry/wet performance... With a huge price gap.

Of note:
The CTS-V and the ZR1 both come from the factory with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. However, they are not the standard PS2's - they have a modified tread compound that makes them stickier and generally better than the normal PS2's all-around. Now consider the traction-to-power ratio that the CTS-V and the ZR1 have. In addition, the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (PS2) tire is commonly found on many high performance (500+HP) OEM applications.

I couldn't find the Goodyear supercar tires so I pulled the trigger on a set of the new Toyo Proxes 1's for the back. The reviews on them were great and they replaced the TiR's which I was thinking about until I read the reviews. Still trying to decide what would compliment the front. Might go with the same tire if I like them. I don't race much anymore but do drive on highways at higher speeds with the hawk so want something really stable that can roll on rain without my ******* puckering up every five minutes.
