Default How Loud?: Dynomax or SLP

Hey everyone,

Was just wondering how loud a Dynomax Ultra Flo exhaust system is compared to a SLP Loudmouth 1. I appreciate responses from anyone how has knowledge on this matter. Thanks.

thats like comparing apples to oranges. the ultra flow for the f-bodies is a cross flow muffler. the slp is a single straight through resonator in the i-pipe. a better comparison is the slp lm1 and the tsp rumbler, which uses a dynomax bullet in the i-pipe.

So then it's safe to say that the Dynomax Ultra Flo is considerably much quieter than the SLP LM1, right?

I have the ultra flo from dynomax and it is very quiet at idle. The car came with a flowmaster, possibly a 40 series, and it was too loud for my taste. The dynomax is less than 1/2 as loud as the flowmaster.

Thanks guy. That's a nice comparison. And of course I'm assuming it can still be loud at WOT right?

At WOT you can definately tell what you have under the hood. I like driving on mountain roads and listening to the exhaust note when using engine braking while going downhill.

Hey Nevr,

Yeah, I had the Borlamouth too. I thought that was loud, but then I put on the SLP LM1. The LM1 is ridiculous compared to the Borlamouth. If the Dynomax is as loud or even less loud than the Borlamouth, that would be a good thing.

i thought the borla had a "richer" sound than the LM1 muffler...i went to tsp duals after that..i figure the dyno is gonna be comparable

Nice. Yeah, the Borla had a deeper tone to it. I liked it.

Ive been wanting to get a LM1 for a while now and I want something loud, since i been stock for a while. I dont know if i will be doing LT's and cam in the near future so would the LM1 be the clear and obvious choice for a catback?

If you want real loud, then yes LM1 is the way to go.
