Default Rain + slick road + idiot driver = bad night for the firebird

Drivin home from seeing Drive Angry tonight, which was awesome btw, I was gettin off the toll road and a guy randomly stopped in the outside lane. I had to go to the inside where the rain and a random splatter of paint on the road made a slick patch, the back end spun around, threw me up onto a 1 ft high curb and into a guard rail. Looks like its gonna need a new front driver tie rod, new drivers side wheels, new driver rear tire, new front bumper and fender, and some good ol paint and body work. Hopefully nothing more got messed up underneath but it runs fine, didnt hear any exhaust leaks, and went into gear alright. Hopefully it wont take long and I can be back crusin again soon but the cam swap is probably gonna be postponed a bit I'll post up some pictures in a little bit

Man that's horrible. I know how it feels to have your cars plans pushed back due to bullshit. Wish you luck getting it back on the road asap

Yeah, gonna be a lotta body work though. Guy said it would be about $5k worth!! Fml! I'm thinking have him do the body work then I'll paint it myself..its either that, part it out, sell as is, or take the engine/tranny, sell the car, and put the ls1/t56 into a classic..hmm..

What do you guys think about a House of Kolor Blue Blood respray??

haha not a bad idea..atleast get some payback

Got some good and bad news today. Bad news is that its not getting a new color and it had a bit more damage than we thought. Needs most of the front left suspension, massaged bumper support, and the diff is leaking a little which hopefully won't need replacement, although I wouldnt mind a nice 9 inch

Good news is the guy is gonna give us a killer deal on it so we're having him do it because after all, he's a pro and a garage paint job won't be as good, but she'll be good as new when shes done. I might have him do upper and/or lower front control arms and maybe shave that HUGE antenna off and get a wireless one.

Tis but a flesh wound! Good luck on the fixes, I doubt you will have too much trouble getting it back together, looks like an easy fix! This is the reason I run Kumho ASX for my DD tires, man I hate rain in our cars.

Damn man that sux. Make sure your paint guy has a proven track record. You'll regret it later going with the "best deal" if he doesn't do decent work. Good luck with the fixes!

And thanks for the compliment

Haha flesh wound, lol. Yeah, it's fairly easy work just that the most time consuming, paint and body, is the majority. Oh well, atleast she's gettin all fixed up! Yeah..definately gonna stay outta the rain as much as I can now! aha

No problem man! He does great work, family and friends been doing buisness with him for 20+ years which is why he's gonna give us a bit of a discount
