Actually right now I wish I had a spring compressor(suspension not valve), anyone have one I can borrow?

Also if anyone is interested Im thinking of getting rid of my strano springs and sway bars, any interest?

dropped the block off at the shop today, getting somewhere.

To use ARP bolts or not, that is the question.

I dont know if they are needed or not for my little N/A build. What you all think?

Stock for mains will do fine at your power level, but at least buy the ARP head bolt kit and some good MLS gaskets like Cometic or FelPro......

DO NOT SKIMP ON HEAD GASKETS OR ARP STUDS on a ls based motor.

buy the 5 layer gm head gasket and the arp suds,period.DOnt skimp on this part of the build as you will be sorry if you do.

I plan on getting the ARP bolts for the headsand the comitec(?) head gskets. Do you mean I really need to get the studs for the mains?

No but now that your going to that thing Spend the little extra on the head studs IF you can afford it, as it may not be a bad idea if not the bolts will keep the heads down fine for your type of deal. The Cometics will work fine, but the 5 layer GM gasket is very good cheaper I believe though I'm not exactly sure of the pricing.....

My bastard child ported 853s arrived today. Look good to me, but the what do I know. Need to get them milled down and some springs. Should have my block back in a week and a half or so then decice to stroke or not to stroke.

Not gonna stroke it, too dam much bullshit. Clearancing everything and would cost about a grand more. I'll just go stock cube and a good cam, this way I should be on the road in January.

the block. Reading crap it seems that the rod bolts tend to hit the block so the block has to be shaved and other crap.

30 mins and one of my carbide cutters and thats a done deal Brotha TOO EASY Dont let that **** turn you off on running a longer arm....
