Wanted:So Cal Shop's That do LS1 Swaps?
Hello, Looking for reputable, affordable shops that have good knowledge of LS1 swaps (Orange County Area would be best but ?)
Cars that we are looking to swap LS1/4L60 in are 67-72 GM cars (Nova's Camaros)
Please do not post Boyd type shops as we have no plans of taken a second mortgage on the homes!
Prefer shops that have done the swap and are familar with the do's and dont's and what works and what doesnt, and has solid electronic knowledge we are looking for function and reliability over chrome and "bling, bling" just clean stock appearance.
Have had people tell me of a couple shops, when you talk to them they act like your speaking a foreign language!it appears there is a big demand for this kind of swap,or we must be looking in all the wrong places hopefully someone here will have some quality shops or individuals who do this on a part time basis to reccommend.
Please PM me with names and numbers.
Thank You ....... NOVA

I know don lees out toward pomona did a ls1 swap into a 69 camaro. They do lots of lsx work so you might want to give them a call. Do a search on the western forum here and you should be able to come up with some contact info.

Me. Check out my cardomain page, there's a 1986 Camaro that we put a heads and cam LS1 in (just dyno'd 360 to the wheels through stock manifolds and with no tune) and a Mustang that we're putting an LS1 with a Magic Stick in:

Drop me an e-mail. Even if you're having someone else do it I'd be more than happy to offer my guidance. madelisle@yahoo.com

Forgot to mention, also did a turbo charged 6.0 liter LS1 in a 1967 Camaro. Should put down around 800hp when done and be in GM High-Tech.
It was already supposed to be in there awhile ago for the FAST system we're using on it. The guy from the magazine flew down to do the article the day of the dyno for it but it wasn't firing. 12 hours later we realized the dipswitches themselves (from FAST) were bad and had to wait for a new system.
All good to go now, just prepping for paint.

We have done a few installs into olders cars as well, and can fabricate anything needed for the install. Not only that we build the engines in-house as well. We just got done with a dyno confirmed 630HP/600TQ pump gas engine for a Trophy truck last week, this was carbureted and used the MSD stand alone Ignition for the LS style engines.
