Default Help Bucking CA Smog (Includes You AZ)

So I have relatives that live in Lake Havasu, AZ and if I register and have them as co-owners I will never have to smog my car while living in CA. Supposeably in Lake Havasu there is no smog. I think it's different for you PHX people. Is this a county thing? Either ways so if I register it in AZ and all that crap... Will I need to drive down for a visual to check my numbers and everything or is it just all only paperwork? Thanks for any help.

Yeah Lake Havasu isn't in Maricopa County, so you shouldn't need to smog it. Not sure about the visual or not.

Here in Phx. most smog checks are OBDII only. I'm due for smog here in a few months.

That's for Maricopa county only. Outside Maricopa county, they do not test emissions. Not sure about visual inspections. Nowhere in Arizona do they hook up a sniffer to the tailpipe unless your car is older than obdII.

Do you need a address in Arizona to register there or can you just get like a po box or something? I want to register in Lake havasue but I don't know anybody there. I have some friends in Yuma but I would rather not drive that far.

I live roughly 60 miles from Havasu, yeah, you are correct, Kingman, Bullhead, and Havasu, no inspection, no tests. Not sure if the PO box thing will work cause I live here. I'll try to find out.

No po boxes, any zip code that is not 85XXX (ex 86XXX), no visual, just use someones address that you know. You can set everything up thru www.servicearizona.com just use your buds as a residential address and your address as the mailing address. You can get a copy of your licsense with either address, but it will only be shipped to the one you choose. BTW, last time I checked there was no visual.

So, say I know a guy in the havasu area and he said it would be cool to do this with his address, Do they need some sort of proof of that address like my name on a bill or anything? and does it cost anything extra a year or what? this would just be awesome if I could do this. Where can I get more info and the specifics of going through and doing this. Would that also mean that you would have an Arizona plate or what?
