Two Exhaust Questions...
I have a 99 Z28 m6 and want some shorty headers ONLY BECAUSE I AM IN Ca. Here's my questions. Would it be a better bargain to just buy some 01-02 stock manifolds (known to flow decent) and put them in place of my manifolds? Would they be a direct replacement and fit up to my y pipe etc? OR should I go with hooker or JBA shorties? I looked on Hooker's site and it only lists 98 LS1's for their shorties. I'm assuming the 98 shorties would fit on my 99 car right??
Like I said, I've read the 01-02 manifolds are about as good as shorties, so maybe I should just go with those...

You are going to have to get the 01-02's y pipe and cats, on the 01-02's the cats were directly after the manifold, on the 98-00's the passengers side cat wad welded in down the pipe about 18 inches.

Remember 01-02's didn't have EGR, since you want to stay legal for smog that might be an issue.
'00's also have the better exh. manifolds AND had EGR, might want to consider that.

Thanks for the info!! That helps a lot! So, if I bought a used set of 00 manifolds/y-pipe, would everything bolt up perfectly just how it is now and have good fitment to my already stock exhaust?
