Default Pictures and Videos from the SG Dyno Day! Dyno #'s inside!

Met up with a couple of local guys from LS1tech Assassin66, SS#2906, and armkneez8 for a nice dyno day at a new dyno shop in South Gate that I will leave unnamed. They have a nice facility and a couple of cool projects like a LQ4 in a 60'somethin Malibu as well as a pair of STS corvettes... Owner is a cool guy and seems to know whats up...

Heres a few pics I snapped as well as a few vids of my dyno runs....

The first runs on the Dyno the owner of the shop thought the car was downshifting so he backed out of the runs, once he it was just the converter flashing to 4000-4200 he just ran the car from a higher RPM range.

Final results were 315RWHP and 310RWTQ I am very pleased with the #'s considering all runs were made unlocked through a VIG 3600(Flashed to 4000-4200 on the dyno) converter. Locked would have been anywhere from 20-30 RWHP more. I wish he would have taken it to at least 5700-5800 to see if the power would continue to increase, flatline, or dropoff, but he backed off at 5550 or earlier every run. Car has 133,000 on it

Another note the A/F curve was steady at 12.8-12.9 under WOT so my "light tune" form SP was dead nuts on, everyone else was running in the high 13's to 14's under WOT on the same dyno and wideband setup with a stock GM tune.

Congrats to Julio to making 343RWHP and 342RWTQ he had the strongest car out of all of us on the Dyno and that was with Midlength headers through 4.11's. Everyone elses cars were running strong that day and could pass or match up Julio once they get the bugs worked out

Did you save the video of my dyno run or did you clear it off the camera yet?

Heres the graph for those interested...

Seems like it would have still made power past the 5500RPM point he shut down at....

Nice numbers James! Crazy on what your K&N added on HP's! Good numbers. Too bad I'm running really lean from all of us! Julio and Assassin got good numbers. The guy at the shop was really cool with us. Can't wait to tune my car cause I know I got some HP's hiding under there. I haven't had the time to load my numbers and pictures but today I get out early from school so expect pictures!Thanx!

I asked him him to take it to 5900-6000, its set to shift at 6100, I believe the limiter is set at 6200 he didn't seem very familiar with running a stalled auto on the dyno....He backed out of the first two runs and kind of figured it out on the last 4 pulls...

the graph posted shows it was still pulling @ 5500 with no signs of dropping off, there were still a few HP up high I didn't get a chance to see

That's what I was thinking. Too bad you can't extrapolate the data (as far as I know).

its ok at least I have a ballpark # on the car. Ill have it on a dynapack for a N20 tune by the first and we will get to see how efficent the Vig is locked up and sprayed....

As long it runs a # at the track that's all I'm concerned with....

Yeah, about that. Whenever you have some free time, we can get together and do the drill mod. I'm sure it'll help your problem.

This weekend I'll be in Vegas, how's the weekend after that?

Not hard at all, shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

Here's a write-up from Install University to give you an idea.

http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...sity/index.htm

click on the install documents and under the under the tranny section you'll see the drill mod.
