Wow!!! I would've hung up on whoever was on the phone. You don't get too many opportunities to meet a legend like that.

I didn't know who it was at first, they always walk customers, reps from Pep boys & autonation through here. I heard him get introduced to someone after they passed my cube. when I hung up I asked my coworker "theee Carroll Shelby" he was all "yup" I was like dammit!!!

and I was trying to hang up with her, but not for this reason. lol.

There was no more appropriate time to hang up on your ex-wife!

Imagine if you could get his sig on your car, that would be funny.

I don't think he would have done it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I was gonna ask Muhammed Ali to sign Casius Clay (b/c the original poster I have is from his fight with Sonny Liston), but in the end I thought it disrespectful.

you should have asked him to do it. The ONLY reason he changed his name was to avoid being drafted. (the whole NOI excuse was something cooked up by his handlers which he admitted years later) That makes him a selfish son of a bitch. If you find some old interviews of him from back in the day, he was not trying to avoid the draft for any other reason than he "didn't want to be inconvienienced." I'd have refused to refer to him as anything but Cassius Clay.

Ask him if that Z-max **** is any good..

"I've built over 100 different kinds of cars… Shelby Cobra, over 20,000 Shelby Mustang, the Viper…at 77, I wanted to see if I could build another good automobile like the Cobra. I call the car the Series One. We're putting zMAX in each and every one that leave the factory. It penetrates the metal, decreases the friction, cleans the carbon residue out of the engine. Therefore it gives you a more efficient engine and a lot more durability. I've got my reputation to protect and I wouldn't recommend zMAX unless I knew it worked."
