It's not hard to find a complete LS1/T56 drop out with ECU and wire harness for cheap right now. Don't know exactly about the LSx swaps into third gens, but you will most likely need a LS1 k-member and possibly a different tranny mount and drive shaft. I'd look into the conversion section, I can do the same as well. But over all, it shouldn't be too difficult of an install.

For reference purposes (there are many more listings to be found):

cammed LS1/T56 with ECU & wire harness listed for $4200
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/928636-2000-ls1-t-56-a.html

LS1/4L60E with ECU & wire harness listed for $3000
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/969849-ls1-4l60e-dropout-complete-72k-3000-a.html

There are deals out there, you can get a nice set-up and you'll be very happy with it.

That listing that Joser put up says that the motor is basically turnkey, so it might come with a harness and computer.
It's a buyers market right now. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a LS1/T56 with ECU and wire harness for ~$3k cash.
Not trying to push you to do the swap, but you'd probably get a lot more power out of a swap then spending the same money on building that Goodwrench.
