Window wont go up.Help!

Default Window wont go up.Help!

my gf's car's window wont go up. she said it happened yesterday. she got in her car,rolled the windows down and when she got home the drivers door was dead. doesn't do anything.her switch control works.everything works,but the drivers window. there weren't any signs of a the motor going bad or anything. it just died all of a sudden.I check the connection and wiggled the wires a bit to check if it was a bad connection and nothing. What do you guys think? Does she need a new window motor?thanks!

Common with 4th gens. Probably needs a new motor. Mine went out with no signs of going bad either when I had my '97 Z.

i think its time for a new motor... do you know if they changed it before you guys got the car?

Right, keep trying to get it to go up periodically, wait until it cools down (temperature), give the door panel a whack or two, try to get the window to roll up a little. If you get it rolled high enough to grab the edge and pull/wiggle it, do so while trying to raise it up. Try flipping the key ON/OFF every once in a while while trying to raise it, but don't start the car (duh). NEVER ROLL IT DOWN AGAIN WITH THE SAME MOTOR... lol. These are all things I do.

Best case, get it to roll up or switch it out for a new one. Worst case, find a safe place to park it (preferably inside a garage) and/or put a cover over the window for the night. I can't count the times I've had to empty my car of valuables, put up a huge garbage bag to cover the window, and cross my fingers that my car wouldn't be missing anything the next time I saw it.

Default same damn thing right now

what the hell i just went to move the car to a better spot because one became available and i rolled down the windows cause its hot still in so cal and the window wouldnt go up never acted up or made a weird sound... so i rolled the pass. up and it went fine... tried the drivers side nothing. pulled it up kind of loose (now wondering if someone tried pushing it down and it is fucked up) but i turned the car up and just moved it to on/off not start and nothing... then fired the car up maybe the crank would give the window some juice... and it went up... now i am looking for a window motor to replace this weekend.

I replaced the motor yesterday and I couldnt be any happier that I did it my self. Dealership was asking 300.00 to replace it.I went to autozone and payed 60.00 for a motor with life time warranty.I used the shoebox write up. It took me about 40 mins. I took my time trying to understand how it worked. I think if i were to redo it, I should take no more than 20mins.Now everytime that window rolls up it brings a smile to my face

i just replaced mine this saturday too but the one i got from autozone had bolts that were too short so i just put some longer ones on and put locktite and greased the window tracks. very satisfied with the window.
