Default MOD options: appearance V. performance

just like the title says what would you do first? Lets say it was a daily driver as well and you wanted good manners and reliability. Also lets say the car in mind is a plain jane Z28 with stock wheels and everything.

Would you do a hood, spoiler, wheels, tint, lower, splitter, custom emblems, etc first

Or would you do heads, cam, lid, intake, headers, exhaust, stall, gears, CMS tune first?

Just curious to know where you guys would stand on it? I think I already know the answer but want to hear it from the horses mouth.

well i did appearance first and look at her. I have full boltons and a lil suspension to go with the looks. it gets the job done. these cars are faster than 80% of the cars out in the road. it all depends what fast is to you.why not do both as you go... I plan on doing a cam and juice soon. Most people will say performance. One thing I've learned hanging out with heavy moded cars is if you don't have the fastest car you better have the cleanest.you dont need a 500hp car to make people drull over your car.IMO

If it was me:

Tint
1LE/Strano swaybars
Koni shocks + springs (especially if the stockers are bad)
Other suspension stuff
Intake/exhaust
Stall (at this time set up any coolers you want, be it oil, PS (unless it has it) and the necessary trans cooler)
H/C

Remember, it'll be your DD. If you have to drive to work every day, then you may not want your car to have the visual maintenance of a show car... Cleaning, waxing, and polishing once (or more) a week gets tiring.

I would fix whatever needs fixed first. Yellow headlights, worn interior, bad paint, etc...

If all is well then go to necessities. Subframe Connectors, etc...

Right. Improve the car so that you have a [somewhat] solid platform to build upon. Fix anything mechanical that is worn and needs to be fixed FIRST (unless it can be fixed with an upgrade). Then move onto upgrades. The order of anything after that is what matters to you. What I did is maintenance, then appearance (cause I hate how stock Formulas look), and finally performance (yet, I'm back to maintenance again! I love GM! ).

It's a vicious cycle.

Ya forgot to put suspension mods on the list lol. sub frame and shocks and springs would be a good start. I think I really just want a sexy clean car that drives really smooth and had so get up and go power. If I went heads and cam I would just do a very mild H/C with a 114 LSA to make it sound stock but have a nice rumble to it.

I would do both, I like the WS6s and wouldnt change anything but the wheels but if I had a Z28 I would do wheels and eventually a cowl hood and SS spoiler.

compare apples to apples though. WS6=SS Tran am=Z28. If I bought a WS6 or SS wouldnt need to change anything but the wheels. Trans am and Z28 would be hood and a spoiler for the Z28

why would you need to change the wheels on a WS6? theyre 17x9 which is a fine. why waste the money? all i did to mine was lower it and bam appearance done.

I would at least do the wheels and tires first then start doing performance mods. I wouldn't put an SS hood on a z28 but would put the spoiler.

i just see 2k for wheels and tires as more suited for go fast mods. like i said, 17x9 is a good size.
