well at the end of the day, if the president wants a bill passed it goes through alot of people... but it's always easier to blame one person than many for a mistake

Imagine being judged by every person you were ever friends with or even an acquaintance of, and then being held responsible for what they did after you were no longer associated.

McCain has plenty. Hell, it was recently in the news that McCain was part of a group that helped fund the Nicaraguan contras (I posted a link here earlier). They acted as a front while Gen. North sold weapons to our buddies in Iran in order for fund rebels in Nicaragua after congress said no.

The "savings and loan" thing was in the 80's and early 90's. I doubt Obama had all that much to do with it.

George Bush has been in office for 7-1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2-1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%;
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000+;
5) American's were buying new cars,taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure;
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~
$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT! ...

REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY GIVE US CHANGE--ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!

JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

We the people need to take a portion of the blame for this. This country has thier collective head in the sand. I hope we wake up and it's not tooo late. We need to kick the ******** out of office and run this country the way it should be run.

well said, I think it is funny when everyone assumes it is Bush's/Republicans fault when it was the Democrats who put pressure on the big companies to give loans to people when there was no way in hell those people should have got them.

I know people like you don't bother to read information when it is put in front of you by people you're sure you disagree with. I'll just say it again and again until you get it.

The savings and loan crisis (as it is known) happened in the 80's through the early 90's. As Bush Republicans (and I differentiate between Bush Republicans and Conservative Republicans because you guys embarrass the actual conservatives in the party) frequently point out, Obama hasn't been in high-level politics for very long, let alone 18-28 years ago. I'll go a step further: Obama had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the savings and loan crisis. I know you get all your information from Bushie-Blogs, but it wouldn't kill you to do some outside reading.

Uneducated? If you're going to be ridiculous, you could at least admit you were wrong first.

You said Obama had a lot to do with the S&L crisis of the 1980s. How is that not wrong?

You've got to be kidding me. No one could possibly be that stupid. Obama was 20 years old when that started.

I want a lot of change, just not McCain and Obama's brand of change. Did you notice they're both running on the change platform?

"We won't talk about the issues, just know this.... change."
