Now get a cam! Then plan the compression and get some thinner head gaskets to get the right CR.

Get chromoly hardened pushrods, LS7 lifters, and arp head studs if you have the money. You can get the heads milled or run a cometic head gasket to bump up the compression a little. Get a dual spring kit to match the cam you are getting (MS3/4).

I can't tell you the thickness of cometic gasket to get, but I'm sure someone will chime in. As for the pushrods, its best to use a pushrod length checker.

They may not be on the same level as those AFR 205's you've got, but you can't call them garbage heads.

Use the compression calculators to figure out your gasket thickness, you will need your cam specs though. You want between an 8.5 and 8.6 DCR and probably about 11:1 SCR.

I dont think you will see too much difference with just heads...why not port them and do them with the cam? Just wondering.

Cool, if it were me id port em now and have them ready to install with the cam. If you install them now, then to get the true performance from your cam you will need to port them anyway, but your car will be down for a longer period of time.
