Default Is this worth it? 1998 Trans Am

I am about to buy a 1998 Trans am and am curious if anybody thinks it might not be worth it.

Car is a 1998 A4 with 180k on the clock. Runs strong as far as I can tell, and only has a lid. Owner said tranny slipped once then e parked it.

Definitely needs a little bit of body work and a paint job.

Interior is in good condition just needs a good cleaning and maybe a center console. and t-tops dont leak.

I am buying it for $2300 with a WS6 hood and factory hood.

Does seem like a good deal?

Thanks
-Scott

i dont know if it needs paint that pretty expensive, and the body work makes it worse. plus if the tranny is going it will probably be cheaper in the end to spend $6-7k on a lower mileage one in excellent condition.

lol the reason it caught my eye is casue i have a perfectly good tranny and I want to rebuild the engine anyway...

If its all good it seems like $5000 total will make it a strong 12 second daily driver... that looks good too lol

The slipping tranny would scare me if I planned to drive it. However, if I planned to tear it all down and rebuild everything it wouldn't matter.

I'd be all over that!!! If you have driven it and it drives good... Why not? If all else fails, you could part that out and probibly make your money back very easily if not make a decent profit on it!
