Default Need to know if a 94 Z is worth $2,000

I run the aftermarket department at a car dealership and we took in a red 94 Z28 automatic on trade. We gave 1,850 and I can get it for 2000. It's got 88000 miles, interior is in good condition except for the drivers side window button switch panel is busted and wont stay in , pioneer head unit, new factory size tires on salad shooters but the outside in banged up pretty bad. It's got dents in both quarter panels and on the hood above the light. Looks like it's been tapped in the front lightly and it's scratched up and fading all over the place. It fires right up but stumbles a little bit at idle when you tap the gas. I've been out of the LT1 game for a long time with gto's and now a C6. You guys think it's worth the money? And if it is a good price, no, I can not just buy it and sell it to you for a few bucks more... I'd like to keep my job! Thanks

Brandon

It is prolly misfiring and thats gets scary. Ask and see how much it would cost to get it fixed. If it's cheap, get it.

Sounds rough. . . . 2k is a typical price on a LT.

I wouldn't buy it. . . . It will fall apart and cost you $.

So youve had a GTO & a C6 & now you wanna go backwards buying a beat up LT1 that doesnt run right? Depends on what you wanna use the car for but from your description I wouldnt want it. Not a money maker IMO.

PASS. Sounds like a 'money pit'. Certainly not cared for, that's for sure.

Save for an LS, besides being a far better design/performer they have much better support along w/ aftermarket.

Business was slow this morning so I pulled a plus and it was the original plug so I grabbed some from the back and just replaced the easy 4 to get to and it's running ten times better so I've got my sunday tech replacing the rest of em now. body shop says they can do the body work and repaint the whole thing black for 1200 and my cost on the interior part isn't too much so I could have a decent daily driver to work for under 3500 that looks good if the motor checks out. I'm not planning on doing any mods to it or anything... All the mod money is going to paying off the vette early!

Still a no-go even just for a car to drive to work in traffic that I'll only have to have liability on?

And HELL NO to a ford motor...I'd put a TBI 305 in it before I bastardized it that bad!

You'd have to pay me to own another car with an Optispark.

That certainly sounds better. You have quite a support group doing things for cheap compared to the average person. $3500 for a DD that is now looking decent and runs well is definitely a possibility if you want to go that route. It may last for years.

I think I'm going with an SRT8 magnum instead... Fast car I can commute in. Don't have to shift gears in I-95 traffic and it's completely loaded for 12,000. 60K miles and warranty to 100K
