How much would you pay for a 98 Ls1?
Here's the facts that ive gathered so far on the car,
1998 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 A4 Ls1 w/ 136k miles.
Details:
White Exterior (in pretty good shape, the normal scratches here and there but nothing major)
Leather Interior
Black Stripes
CETA Mod
Aftermarket Wheels (i believe there the American Racing Razor wheels)
Lowered (looks like Eibach Springs, sits really low in the front like Eibachs do)
Windows Tinted
Aftermarket Rotors (slotted/drilled rotors)
Blacked Out Taillights
Black Trans Am door stickers (the vinyl stickers that go on the trans am emblems on the door)
Exhaust (idk which one, has some nice tips on it though)
Possibly has engine mods done to the car, just looked it over real quick. Maybe next time, ill see if i can get the car started and hood popped open to see whats done. As for what im seeing, it does look good from the outside and interior looks to be ok from what i can see through the windows.
Its located a dealership and they are wanting $9000 for it. I think its a little to much for the year and mileage on the car. Wish it was a M6 but i could always do a A4 to M6 conversion in the future and i would atleast have a Trans Am like ive always wanted.
Just looking to see what you guys would pay for a car like this? Or what price you woud give the dealership to start with and work from there? Im thinking of around $7k or lower if they'll go for it. I tried a Kelly Blue Book search and i believe i ended up with a $5 to $6k price for this model year in excellent condition.

The fact that it's at a dealership just means you're gonna pay more for it.
I picked up a 98 Z with 150k miles exactly for 3800 a while back. 6 speed, red exterior, hard top. Has lower control arms, torque arm, global west panhard, borla adjustable catback, z06 clutch, rebuilt tranny and new rearend, eibach springs, bilstein shocks. Body is just the same way you described.
For a WS6 like you described around here it would be around in the 6k-8k dollar range, and it would probably go for that, but it would also sit for a while before it got picked up. Reason it would go for around that much is cause it's a trans am. If it were a camaro, could probably do it for 5k-6k with those miles.
IMO I would hold out for a better deal unless you find a car that is just perfect in your eyes. Every few months a nice trans am pops up for sale around here, and the past few times it's been 4100-4800 dollars for them. Regular trans am, but M6, and the paint is always immaculate and amazing and the cars usually are around 100k miles. Wish I would've held out for one of those. There's also an A4 arctic white that's been for sale for a year now with 140k miles, I can't remember if it's a WS6 or if it even has the hood, but the guy went from 6500, down to 4k and I think someone finally bought it or the guy gave up trying to sell it. Was all stock, good condition, but automatic is the reason why I stayed away.
So basically, go for it if it's exactly what you want, but most likely if you just be patient, you will find a far better deal unless you do like you said and get them to negotiate, if you can leave with it for a reasonably better price that you're comfortable with, do it. It's just that it being at a dealer means in most cases you will be paying a little more.

That's insane! They probably picked it up for half that and are looking to find a sucker. You can get a real decent LS1 for $9,000 with much lower miles. You might have to travel but it is well worth it. Don't confine yourself to a small area in your search. Good luck!

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb...848772397.html -$6200 99 Trans Am
Those are two listed around here, and I'm sure if you came cash in hand, they would do even better on the pricing. I would pass on it unless it's just something you really want, and you are just plain tired of searching.

Damn, sorry for posting one after the other, but here's one near you that's 8k obo.
http://odessa.craigslist.org/cto/1778726821.html Arctic white, shelby wheels, ram air scoop stripes, lowered. Bring cash and he would probably do a good amount better than 8k
That one seems the closest to your location.
Then these are near san antonio which looks only to be a little drive which IMO is always worth it for a car.
http://sanmarcos.craigslist.org/cto/1800722518.html Arctic White 119k miles, aftermarket wheels, lowered,$7900
http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/cto/1797724787.html Gold Trans Am with 69k miles, torq thrust wheels, full bolt on car, $7000
There's a lot of decent deals, especially better than what they're trying to give you. IMO you should just search around a little bit. Other than the color, if everything checked out on that last one, I would buy it myself if I hadn't already bought 2 camaros in the last month.
