Good deal on 2002 Z28?? Thanks for the opinions!
I am looking at buying a 2002 Z28 and wanted to see waht the general opinion was on the price. I have negotiated down to $8250.
2002 Z28 Silver
A4, 70,000 miles
T-Tops
All power
Leather, power driver seat
Sport Appearance Package
Cd Player and CD Changer
Stock chrome wheels, new tires
Issues:
Roof is bubbling due to the adhesion problem
front headlights are hazed over but not a big deal to fix
the passenger side rocker ground effect will need to be painted
the front drivers side ground effect needs painting
Passenger side motor needs to be replaced
Driver seat is worn but not torn
Carfax says no wrecks and this car has been very well maintained by the local chevy dealer as all of the maintenance is documented in the carfx report. The car also has absolutely no modifications.
Interested in all opinions. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have been looking for a while and this was actually the lowest price i have seen on a car with this mileage. The paint work is probably not necessary but i am really picky. Actually surprised at the feedback. Very appreciative though. Thanks for the input guys.
There doesnt appear to be a big market in my area for these cars. I hardly ever see one for sale. The only one i have seen has 85,000 miles at a local dealer and its a 2002 and they are asking 13,800. LOL.

Where are you located? I have a silver Z, but it's a stick in case you were just looking for an auto. Also more money than the one you were looking at, but 20k miles and super clean. Let me know.

Actually $8,250 is not out of line for a 2002 model. www.kbb.com 'fair' condition private party value is around $7,500 here in NC. A clean Carfax is good news and the problems are pretty typical and not horribly expensive. I can't comment on the paint issues you are talking about though. Has the car been bottomed out? Suspension issues? I wouldn't rule it out completely if you can get satisfactory answers.
** On a side note: Cars with mods can spell hard driven cars in many instances. That is not a selling point IMHO. Stock is good! Then you can decide what to do to it, if anything.

Exactly what i was thinking. The ground effects actually arent that bad. I would just want to paint them so it would be perfect. Not another flaw on the car and the paint is super glossy. I am thinking its a pretty good deal. I will probably be going over on sunday to pick it up.

Good for you! Maybe it will be a decent find. Many times these 'minor' issues that we talked about are the lone reasons why the owner gets rid of a car. They add up and the owner doesn't want to fix them, yet it annoys them. Do your homework and feel free to PM me if you need further assistance.
