Exactly. I don't know what the 'R' stands for in PA but if it is indeed a 'salvage title', $8,000 for a 100,000 miles car is insane. That's what a clean title car goes for with that mileage.

Salvage restored back to somewhat OEM specs maybe $4,000 i got mine for $3,000 it had 150K on the clock. In your case i wouldnt pay more than $5,500.

agreed on half clean. if i know a car wasnt really damaged bad and will be using it for my own DD i dont care about salvage, but if you plan on selling in the future people are terrified of salvage titles and dont want to pay crap

I personally wouldnt buy any R/salvaged titled car b/c I drive my car very hard and fast therefore i wouldnt trust someone else's work on rebuilding a car to spec.

Mine is a salvage with 155k on it, no problems, except the spiders have a tooth missing that im replacing tommorow, i didnt pay for mine, but the guy who did paid 5k, transams and a little less common around here then in other areas. so id say 5k is good.

OK, thanks for the info. Yeah, no way. A very tough sell f you needed to do so in the future. If you feel like gambling (I would NOT), pay appropriately so you don't get hurt too bad, just in case. I agree with the $4,000 - $5,000 area. The seller will realize this fairly soon unless he misleads someone.
