1998 camaro ss
70k miles
6spd
Car is a few hours from me and seems to be in decent shape but $10.5 is a few grand over book. Looks to be the base model ss as well. I'm new to the forums and the ls1 world and was curious as to what this should sell for. I was thinking 9grand. Thanks for any help you can provide. I hope to see the car and possibly make an offer soon.

I'm glad to see you are still trying after a so-so experience last time.
You are right about the pricing, in fact you are 'spot on' for a '98 SS with those miles. The good thing is that the seller is considering offers. If this SS checked out in person and truly was excellent as the seller claimed, I would go as high as $8,500, maybe even $9,000 if I loved all the mods and the car wasn't abused. Those crank windows are up to you![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
If there are needs or likely repairs then of course that has to be negotiated in the sales price. Good luck! It certainly isn't far away.

Good looking out on the crank windows, I didn't notice that on the first look. Hard to believe they would put crank windows in a super sport. Was this the case for the ws6 as well? I'm hoping to get somewhat of a ballpark price out of the seller before making the trip. Thanks again for your help.

No problem. Glad to assist in some way. I'm sure you will get pertinent info with a phone call to the seller.
I'm surprised about the crank windows in an SS too but I imagine it could be a 'stripper' version. I know they were available in Z28 models as I test drove one once. As far as a WS6 I can't imagine it, not even in a regular T/A. Either way, the crank windows are just a personal choice. I sure don't care but my wife would give it the

He's hoping for the $10,000 with the ebay ad. If he gets it, good for him.
Personally, no, I wouldn't go $10,000. Once his ad runs out (with no sale) he'll think about your interest and price the car accordingly. No one is rushing out to buy his car at that price. They certainly aren't lining up at his house knocking down his door to get it. You shouldn't either. He'll get the message if he really wants to sell. Be patient.

I basically told him the same thing. Ebay will get him more looks, but I think buyers are smarter now than they have been in the past. I told him that he needed to be around 9-9500 for me to drive 3.5hrs each way to view the car, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. As you said, patience is the key. Something will come around. Thanks again for the advice, I'm sure I will be posting more of these as my search continues. I think I'm starting to get an idea of what these cars are worth.
