1998 Sport Gold WS6 Trans Am 6spd
well, I've been thinking of selling the car for personal/financial reasons.
1998 Trans Am, WS6, ram-air, 6spd, t-tops, grey leather. Sport Gold Metallic.
clean car-fax
I'm the 2nd owner, purchased from the original owner.
I have the window sticker, and the original bill of sale.
2 sets of keys.
t-top shades with the clear bag they go in.
all original
41,700 miles.
1 of 18
no rust underneath.
garaged kept entire life, excellent shape
no idea what it's worth.

Sounds like a neat car. I'd hold out for the next long term owner for a strong/fair price. Many people who will approach you on this car will be looking to resell it in short order. If you can hang on until next spring you will do much better.

I agree with the $15K to $18K range mentioned above. Paying anything in that range is more than fair as there are not many alternatives if you want one of these SGM WS6's. I feel the car is worth the same or slightly more as a 1999 anniv coupe or a 2001/2002 SOM M6 with the same condition and same mileage. Both of those cars are probably in that same $15K to $18K range. The difference between them is that you can find those cars readily enough. I don't know where you go to find another 41K mile SGM M6 WS6. If they only made 18 how many are still around with low miles and 1/2 owners? There is certainly a collector looking for this car. The only drawback would be that the miles are on the high side. Most top collectors would want something in the 0K to 15K mile range. And that would probably cost them another $5K-$10K too. Even 20K to 30K miles would be ok. Once over 40K, and especially over 50K, a lot of demand falls away. This car will need to be sparingly driven from now to keep those miles in the 40's.
In the long run a '98 SGM WS6 M6 will be more significant than an SOM coupe or anniversary car. The color may not appeal to a lot of people like SOM or white/blue combo.....but the miniscule production speaks for itself. Forget ANY price guide when trying to evaluate the car as they will kill you for the 4 extra model years from 2002 to 1998 and they cannot suggest a premium for the SGM color. They will also understate the value of the lower 41K miles. In essence, the price guides will understate this particular car by approx $8K imo.

I'd be curious to know if the vehicle is still available...my 01 was just totaled in a deer accident ( i still am recovering from the concussion). It was a 400 pound buck and apparently I bounced off both guard rails on 95 south in Jersey. Walked away with literally not a scratch on my body...I can't same the same for my car. Looking for a replacement one since she saved my butt.

01TransAmLover, glad you are OK. Deer accidents are so prevalent everywhere causing so much damage. Here in western NC my agent told me that it was the #1 claim to their office. I almost hate to drive at night anymore.
Good luck with your search for a new T/A. This is the right time of year to be a buyer.
