about tree fiddy

Joking aside, Hemmings sold one in July it was a convertible with 267 miles I think for 26k. Depends on how quickly you are trying to sell it but this example I'd say no more than a regular 02 Trans AM in OK condition. I'd be surprised if it sold anything over 17k, maybe a competitive offer would be mid teens, if you're trying to move it quick shoot for 11-12k...but what do I know.

I would expect it to be in the mid $20k at the minimum. The mileage is pretty good and it is a somewhat rare pace car.

It's a shame it wasn't taken care of properly. The mileage is not low 'collector' miles but the car should be a #2 normally. From what you describe with faded color and some issues, it's no more than a #3 car. With that in mind I would guesstimate a price in the high teens. I think $20k would be pushing it to be honest. Pristine ultra low mileage CE examples have really risen recently with prices in the $30's and even much higher. As nice and decent as the car looks in the photos, your honest evaluation and the miles reflect reality.
*** It's very tough to gauge proper pricing in this inflated used car market. This is a guess on my part from watching sales over the decades. I could definitely be on the low.side in today's market.

I'm not trying to argue but care just enough to make a reply. I think 20k is insane. This is a C/E Daytona, granted its a convertible but the closest I could find but with 1/8 the miles https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ac-transam-56/ Regular CETA with under 30k miles in amazing condition sell for 30k. this example needs a ton of paint and body work, new graphics and refinished wheels. Mid teens, all day on this, I'll redact my 11-12k comment after doing more research but over 20k I'll **** a watermelon on Instagram live..fax.

I did a lot of research on theses C/E Daytona 500’s. There’s about 7/8 posted on google. 4 of them are fake cars with fake stickers on the doors. I called those cars to make sure. The other 4 cars that I know are real cars don’t have prices on them. I seen one for sale about 5 years ago. They wanted $50k it was a perfect car. There where only 43 of these cars and they where actually used as Parade cars. Call me crazy to the right buyer I think the car might bring minimum $40k.

I mean you are looking for a unique buyer. If that buyer is in the market looking for the car then they've come to terms with paying premium for an immaculate example. just my 02

Ok...a $40k minimum would definitely be crazy in its current condition. If you are looking for that kind of money then all of those cosmetic issues will need to be addressed, especially since the mileage is well beyond a top-tier collectible.

I think these trans ams are extremely different from other pace cars. I’ve learned that most other pace car makes and models have never seen the actual track. Like my 1994 mustang cobra Indianapolis 500 pace car. Ford sold them with sticker kits and offered them to the public and made a 1000 of them.

now with trans am pace cars is a whole different subject there’s only 43 cars total and they all seen the track and actually had nascar race drivers drive them around the track. A few of the cars where convertibles and has celebrities in them!

I feel like the 2002 trans ams pace cars are a little underestimated considering the MASSIVE story behind them.

and yes! I did see one or two of them sell for 27k and one for 30k. The one for 30k had a odometer rollback on the carfax. What’s crazy thou is the fact that a 2002 trans am ws6 NONE C/E nor Daytona 500 is all over eBay and Craigslist for the prices of $18-25k.

$18-25k for a normal trans am ws6……. 27-32k for a C/E DAYTONA 500 parade pace car. A lousy extra couple thousand dollars……. For an extremely rare car with a huge back ground story.

The problem is, there is nothing mechanically special about this car (no special factory engine), so the only factors which increase its value are rarity, exclusivity, and condition. The story and rarity behind this car might bring some interest beyond a normal CE car at this mileage/condition, but the exclusivity hits a point of diminishing returns as condition deteriorates (meaning most collectors paying $40k+ would be more interested in a #1 or strong #2 CE car regardless of pace car status, as those are proper "show vehicles" and present as such, rather than as a driver).

To hit $40k at this mileage/condition would take a buyer with enough money that wise decisions take a distant back seat to a purely emotional desire for a parade car even if it's not show worthy. That's a hard target to find.

Just an FYI - those are not the stock exhaust tips, not sure if the whole system has been changed but it's technically not an "original" car if the catback has been replaced with an aftermarket system. Also, upon zooming in on the second picture it appears that the dash area is in pretty rough shape. This car would definitely need at least a partial restoration to appeal to a serious (meaning high dollar) collector, IMO.

Rare doesn't equal expensive. This may be 1 of 43 but it looks beat. The head rests look black whereas the rear seats look charcoal. Could be lighting or could be someone changed the seat covers. Don't know. It probably runs fine but to buy a car and put $10k in it, yes, you'll need that at a minimum to bring it to show room condition, it's just not worth it to spend more than low teens. They are original once and too bad this one was neglected. This car brought back next to a low mile original will have a huge gap in price.

We are sorry to burst your bubble OP but we have all been around the block for awhile. Even with all the issues repaired, the 55,000 miles is not appealing to some buyers. $40k is highly unlikely even in this scenario. You can't just toss costly issues aside in your estimates. If selling, please try for whatever price you desire. No harm, right? You never know who is looking at any given point in time. I would LOVE to be proven wrong. I want these F-bodies to reach crazy highs. Actually, they already are.
Good luck with everything. You probably wish you never asked for opinions now.

no worries bro! I’m happy to get everyone’s opinion!

yes the car needs some basic worth that I can repair easily and make it look original. I actually have another 2002 CE none pace car that I’m gonna switch out the parts.

You’d think because of the back ground history on these cars they’d be worth more! But I guess there not…..

But I plan on keeping the car I always Wanted a pace car.

^^ Excellent! I'm glad to hear it's a keeper. The one problem I see is that one car garage. I hope the new ride will eventually go in there.

A guy in my town (central FL) has been taking one of similar condition and brining it back to top condition. Glad to see these things fixed up and preserved.

I'm as interested in the 5.0 Notchback!

Oh no!!! You are not alone. My Mustang sits in my main garage too with my R/T. My T/A does have it's own heated garage though, just shares it with my petroliana collection.
