2000 z28 value in 20 years?
Trending Topics
I don't think it will be worth much in 20 years, 30 years...possible. And that is only if he NEVER drives it starting now and doesn't touch it. Being that it's not the theoretical top dog of its year since its not an SS means it has to be in amazing condition for it to be collectible, again my opinion.
In fact, I think the release of the 5th gen will really make the value of the 4th gens plummet for the next few years, and actually accelerate the appreciation of the 3rd gens...its a slow process, but the 3rd gens have finally hit bottom and are slowly becoming worth more again.
It will be after the 5th gen run is over before the 4th gen ever appreciates again...

If anyone here can predict the future let me know because I have some lottery tickets to go purchase.
IMO, in 20 years it will be worth $4 - $5k at best. Simply not worth it.
The reason the first gen camaro's and that era muscle cars gained value is COMPLETELY different then what your 00 Z will be in 40 years.
Your 00 Z will be just a car. The 1st gen's gained value because everyone in the era in which they were new cars wanted one, and most had one. Almost everyone drove a nice bigblock V8, went and hung out with his car buddies every night etc. They all sold their cars, and now 30 - 40 years later, they look back and go, i wish i had my old car again. Think im going to buy and build one.
Simple fact is that a '00 Z28 doesnt have anywhere near the appeal that car does. These days, an '00 Z28 is nice, but with all the emissions laws, new restraints on racing etc. Most people (Except the people on thsi board
) want a car based on fuel milage, safety, etc. So yeah, some people will look back and want the 00 Z they had in high school, but the simple fact is, not nearly as many as peopel who want a '69 so its never going to be near teh value. As for thirdgen appreciation. Definately going up. in 2005 i bought my '89 Iroc-z for $1800. Good shape, rust free, needing paint and a tune up. Now, a '89 iroc-z in the same condition, will sell for $3k any day of the week. Yeah, not much of a gain, but they have started going up. A mint thirdgen you could pick up for $4k a few years ago, now their $7k+
