Rims and tires question???
Will C5 corvette rims 17x8.5 with a +54mm offset fit on my 99 Ls1 Firebird Formula without rubbing with a Kumo Ecsta SPT 255/40ZR17 tires? I want to put these tires on the front.

My back tires are 295/30/r18 and I'm thinking the thickness in sidewall from the front and back tires is going to look wierd because the back's are going to be skinner than the fronts?

Well unfortuantel'y to run a 17" and 18" combo on a F-Car, you are going to have to have the front side wall taller than the rear. The ABS system on the car needs the OD of the tires to be very close, or it will read tire speeds as different and fail during a panic stop.

Well i had a 275/35/zr18 tires with a C5 18x9.5 with a +65mm offset on the front before but every time i took a sharp turn they would rub bad on the lower control arms. So thats why i wanted to go with somthing smaller in front but they dont offer anything in an 18 inch rim with a different offset. They only have the +54mm offset in the 17 inch rims for the C5 rims.Any help here?

I seen a few camaros with 17" x 9.5" with a +38 offset and the wheels/tires don't stick out. But, IMO I wouldn't use a wheel with less than a +38 offset(fender lip Issues).
Anyway with the 1" hub spacers your wheels(18" x 9.5", +65 offset) would effectively give you a +39.6 offset.
If you want you could just get longer ARP studs and use a 3/8" spacer, or 1/2" spacer which would give you a +55.5 offset with the 3/8" spacer and a +52 offset with the 1/2" spacer.
IMO, this would be the least expensive route to take. But make sure you get hub centric spacers.
All of these will work.
