most people on here are missing the point of why people run et front runners its not for the purpose of handling its for the track when your running a bisply tire. when you run a radial with a biasply in the rear you are gonna feel like your on skates but with the front runners up front it is much better and doesnt feel like you have a flat tirea at 100+ mph. To the people running the vw tire good luck and if your that broke and cant afford a little more for a tire then sell it and buy a damn honda and dont drag race.

Mine's street/strip.. I went with the 26's.. Do you have coil overs? Reason I ask is when I switch between my 18's and my 15's(skinnies) I have to raise the ride height by over an inch for the skinnies to clear..

i have put 5k miles on arizonian tires.. so far they are wearing better than the old set i had before
i trust them for daily driving. however i wouldnt trust them over 120mph. i could see things going badly at the track with them but not on the street, and my car never sees more than 75 mph on the freeway

The sportsmans are a bias tire. Not a radial. If you mix the two hell yea your car is going to drive all messed up. even if you did bias on both ends it will, newer cars suspension isnt made for a bias ply. MT does make a radial and so does Hoosier. And the guy from Discount tire you should know this. Also what are the specs on the 165/80 tire? For the guys who do lighten thier car, running a tire like that may not be that bad. but for my heavy car I need a better tire.
Sportsmans are radials, it clearly says it on the tire and on every website they are for sale on. I have them on my car and would never run a cheapo 165 its just not worth it.

then again if your trapping 130mph your probably not daily driving the car. if you spent that much on speed i think you could spend an extra $35 a tire, or even the extra $250 for a street set of front runners lol

the sportsman SR tire IS a radial tire.
poster was prolly confused.

IMO, what you are doing is more dangerous than using them at the track.
no chance of building up sustained heat in a 8-12 second blip down the 1320.

i commute from dallas to lubbock 750 miles round trip. ive made that drive about 5 times now, takes about 5 and a half hours each way. never had any problems at all. im more worried about not having oem lugnuts to put the spare on with than anything

if you carry a spare, wrap some stock lugs up in a rag and put them with the spare tire so they dont rattle.
