17X11 back wheels question
So i have just got my torq thrust 2's 17X9.5 front and 17X11 rears and wanted to know:
- will my gas mileage go down?
- will my handling/steering feel different?
- and most importantly, will the new wheels affect my cars performance in a negative way?
Various people at my work pretty much answered yes to all 3 questions
i will post up some pix after i install them

Mileage - It may go down slightly, but nothing major.
Handling/Performance - Yes, it will handle different. It will tend to be more sluggish and you will be more aware of bumps in the road, due to the increased contact patch. Acceleration and horsepower will be down compared to stock wheels. You're adding a lot of weight, and it's all rotational mass. 1lb at the wheels is like 7lbs anywhere else on the car, from what I've always read.
Personal experience: I went from 333rwhp on stock snowflakes to 320rwhp on 17x11 ZR1s, without changing anything else on the car.

no you will not notice it at all been there done it. Unless its a 50 horse power drop or increase, suspension upgrade you will not know the diference by widening your rear tire by 2 1/2 inches thats just crazyness

I swapped from stock 245's to the same setup you mentioned. My car handles better than it ever has and I have not noticed any decrease in power. It also handles better in the rain. I love 315's lol.

Give me a break. If your going with a basic steet tire you will NOT notice a diffrence on the street enless you can feel a 1-2hp diffrence for rotating mass which i doubt you can. If your making any kind of power then you shouldnt be running a street tire at the track enless its a drag radial and your an auto. Just my $.o2
