I'm pretty much settled on the fact that getting this power to the street is going to by a joke, BUT, I though I would ask here to see if anyone has some suggestions to at least help me get MORE power to the street. I am primarily going to fun this on city streets (VERY little freeway driving) with a few track runs. I've already upgraded all the suspension (LCA, SFC, shocks, springs, panhard, torque arm, etc) and the wheels (Fikse FM/5 17x9.5 & 17x11). I am running 315/35/17 Nitto DR. Is there anything MORE I can do? I was thinking I could either:
1) Use the new 17" ET Streets when they come out, if they fit on my Fikse wheels.
2) Sell my Fikse wheels and get a smaller wheel and run a 16" ET Street.
3) Sell my Fikse wheels and get an 18" wheel and do a minitub. I could then run a wider BFG DR.
4) Accept that my current setup is good enough and that changing it wouldn't warrant enough improved traction to make the effort and money worth while.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Not sure if I want to sell them quite yet... If I do, they only have like 200 miles on them. I'll let you know if I do decide to sell them.

I called MT last week and they said November, although they didn't sound too sure. Let's hope! My car should be ready right around then so the timing could be perfect...

I think the biggest is like a 345/30/18. That would be pretty cool but somone on the other board posted that doing a minitub to an f-body is very tough becuse the springs, etc. are so close to the wheel. Also, wouldn't an 18" wheel give you less traction than a 17" because the sidewall would be smaller and it would wrinkle less? At what point does the width of the wheel become more important than the sidewall? These are the questions that keep me up alllll night....

Just keep running the 315 nittos on your fikses and have a spare set of drag wheels for racing. The minitub with a 345 would be awesome but $$$ and not much gain

OT, but I now know I saw our car at MMS. I saw the color and the bottom of the wheels and of course the hood's shape from underneath the car cover. I wish I could have seen the entire car. Nice car you got there man!

keep the Fiske's, and continue to run DR's on the street or swap to a real deal street tire
buy a set of 15 or 16" drag rims and slap some slicks on there for track duty

I personally think any radial tire on a supercharged stroker motor is a death wish, anything high speed with the regular radial can get squirly....just don't try racing from a roll...
I have a tamer setup then you, but I can tell you, nittos go up in smoke, my 26" et streets were fried just off of my heads/cam setup...now I have a 27" tire, that I'm driving on daily....I would rather hook up then be doing 180's every time I hit the pedal..
I doubt the 17" et streets are going to handle the amount of TQ your call will have....
I sold my firehawk rims for slicks/skinnies, and have been using those as my "get around" tires...I will be getting some 18" full polish FM5's in the near future though....

BIGBLACKZ28 - Thanks! I really miss her - she has been at MMS for 3 1/2 months now...
BIGBOS - How many miles do you get out of your ET Streets?
It sounds like everyone is pretty much evenly divided... If the 17" ET Streets come out and MMS still has my car, I may have them swap out the tires. If not, maybe I'll see just haw bad the Nittos hold up before I decide to sell them. Then again, a minitub (if possible) and some 18" 345's would be sweet but it sounds like those really won't give me much more (if any) useable traction over my current setup. Hmmmm, I'll have to speak to MMS about it when I go over there next.
Thanks for the input - keep it coming!

I didn't like the et streets at all, I sold them and got some Hoosier QTP's, I probably got 6000 miles on my tires and they are starting to wear...

But the Hoosiers probably don't come in a 17" wheels size, though... 6000 miles is pretty good. Maybe I should just sell my wheels and get a smaller size and run them full time w/ Hoosiers or ET Streets. How do skinnies feel on the road?

Skinnies aren't as bad as one might expect...
I was driving my car EVERYDAY with them for a while, and its not a problem, I could corner pretty sharp at 35-40mph...the car isn't going to be able to be thrown into turns anymore...
The tires in the rear is what you notice more, its like driving around on mush...

Hey BIGBOS, can you give me the specifics of your tires and wheels? Starting to think I may go with something like your's... Thanks!

I think the best thing without a et street would be a set of bfg drag radials 275/60 15 and put a set of 15 inch bogarts or welds on it! Many fast fords have gone 9's on this size tire. Last year at thunder I went a 1.51 short time on them. I would not mess around with anything but a 15 inch rim if you want the most traction you can get.

I'm thinking just forgo the tires and setup some kind of tank thread thing. Instead of mere inches of contact patch at any one time, how about multiple feet. How would they designate such a tire err thing, maybe use width in substitution for length, so I want I P430,000R-17.
Seriously though, the tub route is probably best if you are having serious tire spin with your current setup.

I'm running around on WELD prostars....if I had to do it over again I would go with some BOGART rims...with bogarts you don't have to grind the calipers and you don't have to use spacers...they fit very well, and look bling bling...
I have 15x10 prostars in the back with 7.5" backspacing, extended wheel studs, 5/16 spacer, and boat loads of grinding the caliper to make them fit....I'm running open ended lug nuts....
In the front I'm running 15x3.5" prostars....5/16 spacer, they fit on fine...I will most likely get extended studs for those too to pass tech at certain tracks...I'm running regular aftermarket lugs in the front....
Who ever you buy from will either supply lugs or you have to ask for them....the stock lug nuts that come on the car will not work for these rims...
If you look here..

look in my different albums and you should be able to find the pics of my prostars on the car...
I'm going to be taking some better pictures soon...
