i run my NT05's for street driving at 32 front and 30 rear. after a few minutes the tires heat up and gain about 3-5 psi with air, and about 2 psi with Nitrogen. i get the best wear from the tires when they are 35 front and 30-32 rear when hot. for spirited driving aka corner carving, you'll want about 28 in the rear to help pull you out of corners and the 35 up front helps you roll into and out of the corners.

this is info gained, from 2 sets of NT05 275/35/18 and a set of 285/35/18

Badss, just FYI if that's an iPhone you are using, if you turn the camera sideways and hit the volume + button to record, it'll record in full screen and show full screen when uploaded to YouTube.
This was done with my iPhone

I have a set of 275-40/17 all the way around on my 97 Camaro that I autocross and do pdx's with. So fa after 4 event of 5 runs each I'm not disappointed in the tires. But I don't think I'll get them again. I think there are better options, Toyo proxies for example are what I'll probably get next. They do run narrow for there size. I like there forward grip, don't like there lateral grip. They are predictable until they get hot then they get real greasy real fast. Just my .02

Which Proxes R888/RA-1/R1-R. Only the R1-R and NT-05 would be comaprable. R888/RA-1 would be comparable to the Nitto NT-01

Please clarify as to which tires "get greasy real fast"?

I was referring to the Nitto's NT05's getting greasy real fast. They don't seem to like the heat. And the NT05's run narrow for there size. I had a autocross Sunday, and it was air temp of 91, and surface temp of 106. The tires were pretty good runs 1-5, after run 5 which was my best run, the tire temp across the surface was (inside edge to outside edge front) 127-133-137 rear was even hotter (inside to outside) 130-137-141. Run six, was my worst run of the day, lost the rear almost looped it. Maybe tire, maybe me. I don't know I was driving the same, I think. This is the first autocross that we've had that's been in the 90's. It's not that I think they are junk or anything, but for me, I think I may try a different brand of tire. Like I said, the forward grip is good, lateral grip I don't know, not as good as I was hoping for. Toyo's may be a disappointment for the car, I just want to see if they make a difference. The NT05's aren't going to last the season anyway, and I only drive them to and from the event's. I have another set of wheels/tires I drive on the street.

Yes, R1-R is what I am considering.

I had this problem till I figured out I was running too much air pressure in mine.

I start the session with 31f and 26r

Of course I am doing 30 minute sessions on a track, I had the same issue with the car sliding around and that only made the pressure go up even more.

Thanks to DIscount tires direct, gave me a great deal and shipped for free.

This is the EXACT set of wheels and tires I want on my 02 z28. Any pics on the car? Where can I get a set of these wheels?

He had them widened just like I did. I'm running the same tires but on widened WS6 wheels.

x2 I do same but im on a stock stall still but I do like the tires. I'm running the 295/45 18's on c5 z06's. Anyone know a good psi to run at the drag strip? I aas told 20psi. And yes I know this thread is a few months old sorry but there is a lot of good info so I thought someone in here would know.

you guys do realize these are autoX inspired tires i.e harder sidewalls which will allow you to blow them away at a stand still , however they hold amazingly around corners. you want stright line out of the hole grip, then get the NT05R, its what they are designed for.
