How sticky are these compared to the non run flat PS2s? Looking for a good stock size tire that'll provide better than a 1.85 60ft (ps2s I have currently get that 60ft. ).

Yeah cause the only 'street' tire that are 285/30/18 is the yokohama advan ad08 there needs to be more 285/30/18, i mean it's a 25" tall tire, which is perfect! Wide, low profile, and 25" tall! Great performance sized tire! 315/30/18 same deal, much benefit in it's size

The rubber compound between the two are almost equal. The NT05 will be a little more sticky. Keep in mind though, this tire was not designed for forward lateral movement. Although this model is sticker than most performance tires, it has a reinforced internal construction and reinforced outer tread blocks for increased cornering.

Here's a link that will help...
In regards to the size selection, there is currently no happy medium between the 275/30-19 and 335/30-19 sizes. The approved rim width range for the 335 size is 11.5" to 12.5" with 12" being the most ideal.

What is the actual width on these tires? Iv'e been told NITTO sometimes aren't as wide as Mickey Thompsons. I want the traction but I also want the look of the 315. Some 315's look like 275's from NITTO.

Finally got mine mounted on da car and they look great! Still can't give an accurate summary, but they feel as they though they grip more in the corner, but I am still wearing off the initial new tire tread.

I did do a side by side comparo shot against my Hoosier 315's, and they are just as wide for sure. I will post the pics in a couple of hours, but rest assured, these do not run skinny!

Nitto lists the section width for the 315/35-17 NT05 at 12.40"

so are these mainly a handling tire, or are they excellent traction tires as well? im getting 3.73s and a stall this summer, do you think some 275/40/17s would hook well? i just have a couple bolt-ons for now, but the stall and 3.73s will spin like crazy with the tires i have right now. wanting to know if these tires would be what i'm looking for

The NT05 is a very soft rubber compound. It's softer than an ultra high performance summer tire but a little harder than a competition R compounded tire. This model has a stiff sidewall with reinforced internal construction and outer shoulder blocks for increased stability and cornering. This tire runs in the same class as the RT615 and Z1 Star Spec. If you are looking for a tire that will give you the best whole shot (off the line traction), this is not the tire for you. Although better than most other tires, you would be better off going with a drag radial.

There definitely needs to be a compatible 305 or 315 size for an F-Body/Corvette wheel. I currently run 305s on my Camaro and would not switch to anything smaller.

This thread has been very informative.

This might be a n00b question but...
whats the widest tire I can fit on an 10.5" rim?
