Will this work on a 10.5 wheel 45MM OFFSET
Will this fit with no issues on a 10.5 wheel with 45MM OFFSET causing no rubbing, etc???

The NT05 is a very soft rubber compound. It's softer than an ultra high performance summer tire but a little harder than a competition R compounded tire. This model has a stiff sidewall with reinforced internal construction and outer shoulder blocks for increased stability and cornering. This tire runs in the same class as the RT615 and Z1 Star Spec. If you are looking for a tire that will give you the best whole shot (off the line traction), this is not the tire for you. Although better than most other tires, you would be better off going with a drag radial.

I stumbled across this thread while searching for "NT05" and want to say thanks for the side by side picture comparison and discussion.
Years ago I started using the 315 555 both front and rear as a good trade off between street and road course at a great price. I hounded Nitto without mercy to manufacture a 315 555R2 to no avail. The drag tires upfront have too soft a sidewall and poor feedback, yet they stuck like glue for well under $200. It was good compromise $/performance for weekend track days.
Finally Nitto released the R2 sidewall and follows up soon after with the NT05 and NT01. So many choices so little time!
I'm reverting back to 275/40 in front in order to take a little strain off the steering and make it a little more "comfortable" around town. I'm on the fence between NT05 and R2's up front. I'm not too concerned about the millage difference between the two.
I'll likely go with the R2's because the NT05 center grooves are as wide as the grand canyon. Seriously, I expected to see Evel Knievel try to jump across those valleys. I'm old enough to remember the aqua tread tv commercials that "pumped" water out from underneath the tire. Rain is avoided because my rear tires are no-longer tread legal anyway.
I've been a big fan of Nitto for 7 years. I'm glad they give me all these options.

I'm glad you revived this post. Is there any new feedback from people who have the NT05s? I plan to buy a set in the next month or 2. I was seriously considering the RII but am thinking these would be almost a good but with better wear.

I have the nitto NT01 they are alot wider than the 555r and they have the same tread rating they hook up very good so if your going more for the drag racing than the road racing i would go with the NT01

I just put some on all 4 corners last week with my new wheels fronts are 275/45/17 and 295/35/18s in the rear. These in combination with new LCAs and PHB and I can feel a huge difference from the stock 245/50/16 Yokohamas I had before. Excellent lateral grip in fact I have not found their limit yet and for the moment at least with a stock motor and stock stall I absolutely cannot break them free from a standing stop. This is my first set of Nittos and I am very impressed so far.

I cant wait for 285s to come out. I just ordered me a set of 275/40/17 NT05's earlier this morning. Can't wait for them to come in. In a couple more weeks I'm gonna buy another pair for the front. (After I roast my old ones of course )
I'm hoping theyre not a "skinny 275"

Just got my tires in today. Wow these are gonna be some good tires. You can just feel how sticky they're gonna be when slightly heated. . I love em! Just wish I could get a 315 . Someday I'll get some wider wheels.
275/40/17. Just some 2.0MP cellphone pics in my garage. I'll have pics of them mounted tomorrow.
