Nitto lists the 315 Nt05 at a 12.4" tread width compared to a 12.13" width for the 315 555r. What I found odd though is that the 275 Nt05 is listed as narrower than the 275 555r. 10.79" for the NT05 and 10.91 for the 555r.

Well that's not too bad. I wonder how well that would really fit on a 9.5" wheel?

What are the differences between these and NT555R2's in regards to sidewall flex, miles you can get out of them, and road holding performance? Both of these kinds of tires are quite pricey (when buying four) after shipping and having them mounted.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they will be producing the NT05 in the 315/30-18 size

The NT05 and the NT555RII both have stiff sidewalls with reinforced shoulder lugs for hard corning. The NT555RII is stickier because it is DOT approved competition tire with R compound rubber.

The only thing that holds me back from buying a Nitto tire is that they run narrow compared to other brands like BFgoodrich and Goodyear. It looks like these tires run almost a 1/4 inch narrower than my BFgoodrich KD's (275/40x17).

If we buy online, we just take them to Discount Tire and they'll mount them for us?

I tried my new NT05s out with some road coarse action yesterday. I am very happy with them so far. Quick transitions (S curve) were no problem and response is good. Straight, off the line traction is nothing special but that is expected with this kind of tire. They are a vast improvement over my old GSD3s.

Oh yeah, for those that are interested, I was running around 37lbs of air when hot and that seemed to work well. They are wearing nice and even.

If you purchase from us mail order, we mount and balance every wheel and tire combination for free. If you purchase tires only, you will need to take them local for installation (shop rates apply). If you take them to a Discount Tire/America's Tire location, the will only charge you $19.99 per tire for installation. This price includes lifetime balance/roation, free flat repair, and new rubber valves (if applicable).

this question is for the guy that have them on the car now. how do they hook on the street. i saw that there not a D/R and I'm not looking for that, I'm looking for a tire that grips good on the street and can handle the rain.
