NTO5R's are probably the best DR out there right now.. Not to be confused with the NTO5 street tire though. Different compound and much stickier, but will last a lot less time on the street.

I have a set on the rear of my camaro. They did great on the auto-x course. I had the fastest time in my class on a street tire. Im running INVO's on the front but wanna put NT05's on the front when they wear down.

Just picked up a set of these. Can't wait to get the worn out GSD3 off and these on. Great to see some nice comments on here, and from other sites as well. Of course, I ordered from DiscountTire!

The Nitto 555 275-40-17s are listed at 11.02 sectional width and the Nitto NT05s are rated at 10.86 inches, does that mean I could use them on my 8.5 inch wide rim?
I looked through tire sizes on different tire sites..and a 9.0" can be used with a 11.1" sectional width and a 8.0" with a 10.2" sectional width. All on 17s.
I don't want to gain 20lbs of rotational weight by going to some DD 17x9.5s or bigger, I won't do 18's either because I want to have a 1.80 60' on street tires.

I've been running the Nitto NT05 tires on my car since June of last year (minus the winter months).
Other tires I've run on my car (all 275/40R17s): GS-D3s, KDWs, NT555RIIs, Ecsta MXs, NT555s.
Best overall traction (from a handling perspective, I'm not a drag racer, though I do occasionally hit the strip) is a toss up between the GS-D3s and NT05s. The 555RIIs had the best initial traction by far, but after a few months of daily driving, the repeated heat cycling just killed the tire and the traction faded substantially.
Best wet weather traction goes to the GS-D3s closely followed by the NT05s. None of the other tires come close in wet weather traction, and the 555RIIs could get downright scary in anything worse than a damp road. I became very familiar with the telltale feel of hydroplaning the year I drove on those tires.
Treadwear (this is by no means meant to server as a comparison, just the mileage I obtained with all these tires, which occurred under a variety of circumstances and conditions).
RIIs: 8,000 miles (and that's pushing them to almost bare tread)
Ecsta MXs: 12,000 miles.
555s: 12,000 miles.
NT05s: 10,000 miles (some of the hardest driven miles of all the tires I've used though, many early am rips down the Kancamagus Highway)
KDWs: 13,000 miles.
GS-D3s: 16,000 miles (pushing them to almost bare tread as well)
Price: This is what kills the GS-D3s in this comparison. Being some 60-70 bucks more than the NT05s, any slight edge it has in performance is killed by the bang for the buck factor, being roughly 40% more expensive than the NT05s.
To sum it all up, the NT05 will be the first tire I've purchased more than once.

Looking to buy a set of rear tires for my camaro. Looking at 295/35/18's. I have some eagle f1's with a size of 295/45/18 which is way too tall a tire and rub around hard corners. Just wanted to know how much smaller of a sidewall it will be so i dont rub. I have knockoff c5 z06 rims in the rear and not sure how wide the rim is.
